The Story of Princess PinkKiwi
and the 7 biomes

2

Princess Pinkkiwi went to a Taiga biome.3

At the biome, she learned that the averagetemperature of the Taiga is -10 to 14 degrees Celsius a day,
and annual rainfall of 35 to 75 centimeters.
4

While in the taiga she dicoverd that shewas in the canadian taiga. The canadian
taiga is just one specific location for tai-
ga. Tiagas are located in North America,
Europe, and Asia
5
As the Princess took a closer look at the coniferous trees, she found out that as
an adaptation the trees all have needle -
like leaves to retain energy.
6
She noticed that they were all dark greenso that they can conserve heat to survive
the cold winter days and nights.
7

Princess Pinkkiwi met a red fox as she swam in a stream. The fox told her about
adaptations of taiga animals." Well, us he
re animals developed thick cozy fur to ke-
ep us nice and warm in all this cold we-
ather," said Mr.Fox
8

With one zoomed look at the floor,it was clear the biome had very poor
soil that lacked nutrients.
9
TEMPURATE DECIDUOS FOREST
Princess Pinkkiwi was so happy when she reached the gates of the .......

10
She found a magical book hidden in theforest that told of everything she needed
to know about the Deciduous Forest

11
The temperature range of this biome is 6 to 28 degrees Celsius. The annual precipitation is 75 to 125 cm.
The forest has 4 distinct seasons Winter,Spring,Summer and Autumn.
This biome is very special because it is the only boime in which the
leaves of the plants and trees fall out Autumn. This makes the soil rich in
humus. The winters are moderate and the summers are warm.

winter/spring
summer/fallIt is located in Eastern North America, Eastern Asia, and EuropeSome animals hibernate to survive the colder months12
She was so fascinated with everything she was learning, that she wanted to learn more, but about a different biome
so she decided to visit the rain forest.

WiiiiiiiIt is located in South America, southeast Asiawestern Africa and other tropic locations
13
A toucan sang about the beloved Tropical Rain forest as the princess
played with the colorful fish.

14
La la my beloved Rain forest *twee tweet*.The daily temperature is 34 to 93 degrees Celsius.
We get alota Precipitation. 200 to a 1,000 centimeters
IN A YEAR ! Don't be fooled by its glorious looks,
the soils bad ,but the plants all have large leaves compete for
light epiphytes.

15
"Lots of our animals use camouflage and our trees and plants all have leaves with
drip tips," sang the toucan.

16
The princess wandered away and foundherself the desert.

Deserts are located in Western Australia,Northern parts of Africa, parts of the Mediterranean, and some of the United States
17

The annual temperature is -7 to 38 degrees Celsius. The desert gets less than 25 centimeters of rain a year.......
is it hot or is it just me

18

So to gain nutrients the plants have to store water anyway they can. In fruit, leaves, and branches. Smaller plants use log roots to tap into the underground
water supply.

that looks good.19

To escape heat the some desert animals use estivation, which isjust "summertime hibernation"
20
Princess Pinkkiwi had to leave the desert; the heat was just too much for her! She is now
temporarily in the Tropical Savanna.
They cover much of Africa as well as large areas of Australia,South America, and India

GIDDIEYUP!!
You do know I'm a giraffe, right ?21

During the dry season the averagetemperature is 34 degrees Celsius.
In the wet season the average temperature
is 16 degrees Celsius .

Dry SeasonRainy Season22

The annual precipitation is 50 to 150centimeters.
