His name was Pirate Perrywinkle and his story begins in the deepest, darkest place in all of Piratopia. Pirate Perrywinkle was a kind, gentle pirate. He was a poor man. He wore a brown
coat, white shirt, red belt and simple black pants. The year was 1924 and he was quietly sitting in a
petrifying and putrid dungeon in the depths of Landlubber Castle. He was sentenced to a
lifetime behind bars by Bucaneer Walter Hornswaggle for pillaging some dubloons and pieces
of eight from his pirate booty.

Bang! Boom! There was a loud, ear piercing noise in the distance. There was no mistaking that
sound. It was the loud, echoing shriek of the
pirate cannon aboard the infamous ship known
as The Ghostly Soul.
3
Pirate Perrywinkle was feeling really hopeless about the whole thing. The dungeon room was dark like a deep pit and he couldn’t see.
There was water dripping from the ceiling which was coated in green
slime. All he could hear was theI have to use my hands as a guide to trace the room by running my
hands along the rough and crumbling surface of the walls. I haven't
eaten in days and I have a horrible taste in my mouth left over from
last week's scurvy sandwich. of the water droplets falling to the muddy ground. The smell was
awful. It was like a bunch of rotten tomatoes left in the sun too long. dripdripdrip

He had to use his hands as a guide to trace the room by running them along the rough and crumbly surface of the walls. He hadn’t
eaten in days and had a horrible taste in his mouth leftover from last
week’s scurvy sandwich. So why did he do it? Well that’s easy… he didn’t do it.
5
He was innocent. You see, it was a beautiful sunny day out on the high seas when Pirate Perrywinkle seen a bottle floating
along in the water.
6
Naturally, he picked it up and examined the contents. It was a map for treasure buried on nearby Shipwreck Island.
7
He quickly scrunched it up, put it in his pocket and began rowing as quickly as he could to get to the mysterious island. The island was
the shape of a pirate ship and a giant skull mountain. Pirate
Perrywinkle gulped and started to feel nervous as he approached
the shoreline.
8
When he reached the sandy beach, he followed the map to the placemarked with an ‘X’, pulled out his shovel and started to dig. Ding!
He heard his shovel hit something beneath the surface. “The treasure
is mine! “Whoo-hoo, my very own treasure” he shouted out as he
traipsed about doing a victory dance. But alas, he was tricked...
9
Just as he was unloading the loot, Pirate Perrywinkle heard a voice in the distance. “Oi, you! Just what do you think you’re
doing with my treasure?” He was shocked and not quite sure
what to say as he held his pockets full of dubloons and pieces
of eight. “Well, I.. uh..um” “That’s
quite enough. Guards!
Arrest him immediately
and lock away the key.”
Bucaneer Walter
Hornswaggle said in a
deep, gruff sounding
voice.

10
You see, he was a big stocky man in a fancy blue and red overcoat and tight beige pants. He wore one of those white curly
haired pirate wigs with plats on both sides. He was not the kind of
man you wanted to mess with. He was as fierce as a dragon.
