Once upon a time, I lived in a faraway land with my mean stepfamily. They filled my days with cooking, scrubbing, washing, and all sorts of chores. My stepmother and stepsisters, Anastasia and Drizella, never lifted a finger to help. Despite all the hard work, I remained kind.

 I found solace in my animal friends and even made clothes for the mice who shared my small attic room.

One day, my favorite mouse, Jaq, was in distress. I asked him what was wrong, and he led me to a new mouse that was trapped. Without hesitation, I freed the frightened mouse and named him Gus. I couldn't help but care for all the creatures around me.

When it was time for me to feed the chickens, the mice joined me in the barnyard. I always saved some corn for them. But on that day, Lucifer, the mean old cat, blocked their way. We devised a plan to distract Lucifer so the other mice could escape. Jaq was brave and quick, leading the cat away, allowing the others to scurry to safety.

My days were filled with endless chores assigned by my stepmother and stepsisters. They were demanding and rarely appreciated my efforts. Little did I know that my life was about to take an unexpected turn.

I rushed to my room and found an old dress that had once belonged to my mother. With some alterations and the help of my animal friends, we transformed it into a beautiful gown. I couldn't contain my excitement, but my joy was short-lived as my stepsisters, jealous of my newfound beauty, tore my dress to shreds.
