Rose

Rose is an orphan and stays in an orphanage
but moves to Mr. Fountain's house(another orphanage) to be a house maid.

Mrs. Bridget(a teacher who works in the house)
takes Rose to Mr.Fountain's house to be a maid.

Rose meets Bill(an orphan boy) and Susan(the second house maid), but Susan is jealous of Rose.

Mrs. Bridget shows Rose her room.

I've never had a room so special!"

Rose thinks the stairs move after she cleans the teacher's room and a teddy bear talks to her.

Gustavus(Mr.Fountain's cat)pops the bubble in the cream and eats it.Rose comes to eat in the kitchen.Isabella(Mr.Fountain's daughter) screamed loud and the bowl broke and Rose cleaned it up.

Mr. Fountain(a magician, who owns the house) teaches Freddie(his son)
about the mist monster
and he can't see it but Rose can.Rose comes to clean the glass but sees the mist monster.FreddieMr. Fountain

"You have magic!"When Freddie and Gus study, Rose comes to clean the room
but a mist monster attacks them and Rose captures the mist.

"I don't have magic!"

"No, she doesn't! It was an accident!"

"You talk, Gus!"Rose knows magic because she can understand Gus.

"Maisie's mom is here!"Mrs.LockwoodMrs.Lockwood(another teacher who works in the house) calls her for tea.

Mrs. Lockwood says Maisie's
(Rose's friend from the last orphanage) mom has come.

"Okay, You know magic! Gustavus made me say that!"

Why are you here at midnight?When Rose sleeps in her room, Freddie and Gus come and Freddie apologizes.

Mrs. Jones( a kitchen maid)reads the newspaper to the class saying that four kids went missing
and Rose thinks that Maisie's disappearance is related.

At midnight, Freddie and Gus call Rose to the workroom.
Since she has magic, they want her to see in the mirror who kidnapped the disappeared children.
But Rose couldn't see so Freddie and Gus say that Maisie's amulet might work.
She wasn't interested so they'll come next time to test the amulet.

"Maisie's amulet is in her orphanage.
We have to get it tomorrow at my last orphanage!"
