What is the Constitution
you say?
The Constitution is a setof rules that guides how a
country,state, or other
political groups works.
It also sets the rights
of people.

In 1765 I approved the Stamp Act.The Stamp Act is a British Law that
said all American colonies had to pay a
tax on printed things like newspapers,
magazines and documents.
Stamp on papers

6
The Stamp Act is important because it leadto the Boston Tea Party in 1773 and was the start of
the fights that lead to the American Revolution
and the Constitution.

7
The Boston Tea Party is a disagreement between theAmerican colonist and I. The colonist did not like it and
put three ships into the Boston Harbor and threw
boxes of tea in the ocean! I did not like this at all!

"A traitor is everyonewho does not agree
with me."
8
To answer the Boston Tea Party, I passed theIntolerable (In-tol-er-able) Acts in 1774.
The Intolerable Acts are a bunch of laws that
punished the Americans for the Boston Tea Party.
This is important because it lead the the First Continental
Congress and allowed Britain to control America.

9
The colonist did not like this one bit! Making them more angry! This is an important act
because it later lead to The First Continental
(Con-ti-nen-tal) Congress.

"I like the dreams of thefuture better than the
history of the past."
Hello everyone! I am Thomas Jeffersonand here are some cool facts about me:
-Born: April 13 1743
-One of the authors of the Declaration
of Independence
-Third president of the United State
-Died: July 4 1826
I helped write the Declaration
of Independence and went to
the First and Second Continental
Congress!

11
I went to the First Continental Congressbecause I believed the people should have
their rights and the colonist should be
apart from the British.

12
The First Continental Congress started onSeptember 5,1774 in Philadelphia,Pennsylvania.
The cause of this was because of the many taxes put
on the colonist. The colonist started to boycott, which
means back away, from British goods like sugar and
food. They wanted to end the tax and start war!

"We want our rights!"

13
Good day! I am George Washington! Hereare some things about me:
-Born: February 22,1732
-First president of the United States
-Leader of American Revolutionary War
-Died: December 14 1799

"The Constitution is a guidewhich I will never abandon."
14
The Revolutionary War started in 1775 and waslead by me.This war was a fight for the United
States so the colonist can be free from Britain.
The effect of this was the Treaty of Paris and
Articles of Confederation (Con-fed-er-a-tion)

15
The Revolutionary War ended in 1783. The American colonist were very happy because
they won the war and are free from Britain!

16
During the war, the Articles of Confederationwas agreed by Congress on March 1,1778. The
Articles of Confederation was written to give
the colonies the idea of a strong government. This
is important because it lead to many other events
and documents like Annapolis and Constitutional
Convention.
