Dedicated to all the people who struggle to make new friends.

Floyd lived in a place called Chesapeake, Virginia, on a military base. His dad was in the Coast Guard and he was frequently sent off across the globe, which meant that Floyd barely saw him, and his mom worked from home, but she was frequently busy.
Floyd was an only child, and since his parents were always busy, he would often be lonely and be left with no one to play with.

"Ok, I'll see you later Mom."

"Well, my lunch break is over. I need to get back to work, please behave."

Luckily for him, he had one friend whom he loved to hang out with more than anyone else in the world, his name was Ronnie. All he had to do was go next door and ask to play with him, and they would play for hours.
Ronnie's family lived next door to Floyd's so they would always be seeing each other. During the summer the two families would have barbeques when Ronnie and Floyd's dads came home from their world trips from the military. The boys' favorite game to play was tag. "Tag! You're it!" Shouted Floyd. "Ha ha!" Said Ronnie, "I'm gonna get you!"

"Tag, you're it!

"Ha ha! I'm gonna get you!"

Floyd's relationship with Ronnie meant the world to him. He felt complete and never judged; the two would always seem to fit in no matter where they went, as long as they were together. Sometimes they would barely even say anything and just sit, but those were some of the most memorable times together.
"Hey, Ronnie. How was your day?" Said Floyd.
"Good, thank you for asking,." Said Ronnie.
Those were the only words said for 2 hours. But just the two of them sitting together made them content.

"Good, thank you for asking."
"Hey, Ronnie, how was your day?"

As the days went on, Floyd started to notice more and more boxes filling the house, and the house would get more and more empty.
Floyd asks his mom, "Mom? Why are there so many boxes?"
His mom replies, "I'm very sorry, but we need to move. Your dad just medically retired from the Coast Guard, so we need to move out. We're leaving tomorrow so please go pack your things."
"I'm very sorry, but we need to move. your dad just medically retired from the Coast Guard, so we need to move out. We're leaving tomorrow, so please go pack your things.

"Mom? Why are there so many boxes?"

Floyd was devastated. He wasn't worried about moving to a new school, but he was worried about leaving Ronnie. He had no idea what he was going to do.
After Floyd packed all of his things, the two families had one last barbeque before they left for their new house.
"I'm going to miss you, Floyd." Said Ronnie.
"I'm really going to miss you too, Ronnie." Said Floyd with tears in his eyes.
The two gave one last hug and the parents said their goodbyes and they were off.

I'm going to miss you, Floyd."

"I'm really going to miss you too, Ronnie."

Alright, well we must be going.
OK, it was nice living next to you, drive safe.

After a few hours of driving, Floyd and his family reached their new house. It was their grandmas house that passed away a few years ago.
They spent a long time unpacking and setting up. They needed to be fast about it because Floyd's first day of school was in a week

Yeah, it looks fine, Dad.

Do you think my guitar looks good here, Floyd?

A week from Floyd moving, it was his first day at his new school. When he got to school he was sent to his first class, where he was introduced then told to sit and get ready for the lesson. Floyd was very embarrassed and didn't know how to feel about his new school.
"Everybody, this is Floyd, a new student. Please feel welcome to introduce yourselves with him after class."

Mrs Krabappel's class
"Everybody, this is Floyd, a new student. Please feel welcome to introduce yourselves to him after class. You may be seated now, Floyd."

Nobody talked to Floyd after class, which made Floyd very nervous that he wasn't good enough for everyone else.
It was lunchtime, and Floyd sat alone because he didn't want to inconvenience people with himself. He looked over to one table and he saw someone people called Miller. He had people talking to him and coming over the entire lunch period. This made Floyd jealous.

"Hey, Miller, What's up?"
"How are you doing, Miller?"
"Do you remember what we had to do for math?"

After school, Floyd sat and thought for a while. He thought that Miller was so popular and cool because of what he wore and how he presented himself.
Floyd remembered that he wore black sunglasses and a bright green shirt. So FLoyd thought that if he wore the same things as Miller, he would make friends and get more popular. So Floyd decided that he'd wear exactly what Miller did the next day.
