Once upon a time, the Jacobs family grew up and lived in Florida on Dolphin Avenue. There were seven people in this family. Nikki and Jeffrey were the parents of Kendall, Theo, Adam, Jake, and Jada. 

The Jacobs family was a foster family. Kendall was 16, Theo was 12, Adam was 8, Jake and Jada were twins and they were 6 years old.

The Lawrence family: Megan, the mother, and her two kids, Bella and Elena, were moving from Georgia into the house next door to the Jacobs Family. 

Bella was 17 and getting ready to finish her senior year. Elena was 7 and was dreading the day her big sister left, and so was Megan. They also had a dog named Melvin.

"Welcome to our new home, girls!"

All the kids enjoyed playing outside in the spring weather until dusk. They couldn't wait until school was out so that they could play all day long. 

One day, Adam, Jake, and Jada were playing outside and saw Elena playing alone. Jada asked if Elena could play with her, so Nikki walked over with Jada to introduce them and welcome them to the neighborhood. 

"Well, we have been moving our furniture in for a while but we officially moved in about a week ago."

"So when did you move into town?"

"Let's play with the ball!"

Later that day, Nikki and Jada told Jeffrey and the rest of the kids about their new neighbors during dinner.

Jada said, "Elena is nice. Can she come over this weekend?"

Jeffrey said, "We should invite them all over this weekend for a picnic party!" 

Everyone thought this was a great idea.

"Dinner is so good!"

Megan was getting ready to go to the picnic at the Jacobs while Bella was finishing up her homework. Elena and Melvin were playing very loudly. 

Megan yelled from the bathroom, "We are leaving in five, girls. We are almost late. Please be ready!"

The girls responded, "Okay Mom!"

"woof woof!"

"AHAHAHASAGSJAJDGUAK!!!"

"Ugh, I have so much work to do."

When the Lawrence family arrived, Nikki met them at the door and introduced her kids and husband.

Nikki said, "Theo and Adam, get out of the pool for a second and introduce yourselves."

The girls couldn't wait any longer to go play with the other kids. Jeffrey started cooking and Megan and Nikki went inside to grab plates and silverware as they continued to get to know each other.

"Who wants a hot dog and who wants a cheeseburger?"

"Hi, I'm Jake. Want to play keep it up?" 

"Hey Elena! Come play with us."

As the sun set and the adults cleaned up from dinner, the kids went back to playing. 

Jake,  Jada, and Elena were playing inside with toys in Jake's room. 

Bella was about to walk into the room to tell Elena they will be leaving in an hour when she heard Jake ask, "Elena, where is your dad?"

Bella heard the silence, walked in, and told Elena, "It is time to go now."

"Elena, where is your dad?"

"Uhhhh he's umm..."

"JAKE!"
