Jimmy is a student who goes to the 6th primary school in Thebes. Thebes is a town in Greece. He lives in a block of flats in the center of the town. There are many cafes, two supermarkets, one bakery, and a museum near his neighbourhood. He can see the beautiful view of a big park with a lot of trees and flowers from the window of his apartment.

Jimmy is slim and tall. He has got brown short straight hair and blue almond eyes. His nose is small and long. He has got a shiny smile, and he is always happy. He has a very nice character. Jimmy is a responsible kid because he does the chores; he helps his mum a lot. He does his homework, and he respects his teachers and his classmates at school. Moreover, he is kind to people especially the older ones. He protects the environment because he believes that the earth is our home, so we have to keep it clean. He likes playing football with his friends in the afternoon or at the weekends. Jimmy has got a brother, John, who is a volunteer in Thebes.

It is February, Friday the 13th. It is a rainy day. The children are at school. They are studying Maths when suddenly the earth is shaking. One huge earthquake shakes the ground, and many school things fall on the floor and break. The children are afraid and scared. They are crying, but the teacher calms them down.
-‘Don’t be afraid! Stay calm!’, shouts the teacher.
-‘Cover your head and stay under the desks until the earthquake stops!’, the teacher advises them.
After a few minutes, the earth stops shaking, and the students with their teachers go out to the schoolyard protecting themselves with their hands. They are at the playground, they are safe now. But one teacher realizes that two students are missing.
‘Where are they?’ she wonders. It is still raining. The students and the teacher are terrified, wet and, worried about the kids.

Everybody looks at the school. The windows of the school are crashed, the second floor of the building is damaged, and smoke is coming out of the backdoor of the school. Dust and dirt are everywhere. One tree breaks and falls on the headteacher’s car. The students are anxious because the floor is wet from the morning rain. The wind is blowing, and a giant tornado is very near the area. There are black clouds in the sky.
The earthquake causes injuries to the students. The teachers try to call the police and the hospital, but the mobile phones do not work. Jimmy knows that the number 112 works in emergency situations where the wifi is off. Jimmy calls 112, the police, and informs them that they are trapped outside the school. Then he calls the hospital and asks for ambulances to come because there are students injured and two pupils missing.
-‘Hello! We need help! We are trapped in the playground of our school! You have to come quickly!’, Jimmy says.

Also, he informs the fire brigade that there is fire somewhere inside the school; they can see smoke coming out.
-‘ We can see fire and smoke coming out of the school! Two students are missing! Come quickly!’, he repeats. The police and the ambulance come quickly and help the students and the teachers.
-‘We need blankets and coats because it is cold outside. We also need medicine’, he continues. A helicopter flies and brings water, medicine, and food.
John, Jimmy’s brother who is a volunteer in a rescue team, is the first who comes to help the police when he realizes that the students and the teachers of the school need help.
-‘My team and I will help you, do not be afraid! We are here to help you!’, he shouts.

The rescue team brings them blankets, umbrellas, raincoats, warm clothes, and flashlights because there is no electricity. Jimmy, when he sees his brother and his rescue team, feels safe. Jimmy helps the volunteers search for the missing children; finally, they find them in the PE room, paralyzed with fear because it is dark inside the school. One of the students has a broken leg, so the ambulance takes him to the hospital. Jimmy helps the missing students escape and meet their classmates and their teachers at the playground. After a couple of hours, the rain stops, the sun is in the sky, and the electricity is back.

There is traffic jam but fortunately, the parents of the students arrive at school and give a big hug to their children. Everybody is safe now and happy that they are alive.
It’s Monday afternoon. Jimmy is in the hospital with his injured friends. - ‘I am very pleased to see you recovering!’, he says.
-‘We are very lucky that you are our friend!’, say the kids.
The doctor says that the injured students will be okay in one month. Jimmy is sad because he can’t play with his friends outside anymore. He has to be patient, but he can talk to them during the school breaks. One of his friends is complaining because he can’t stand having a broken leg.
Luckily, the mayor of the city fixes and rebuilds the destroyed school.
-‘I am building a new, colourful school for the students!’, says the mayor of the city. After one month, the school is new, and the students can learn and attend their lessons again.
Jimmy, the sensitive and heroic student, is famous throughout the country because he is courageous. The mayor of the city offers him the golden key of the city. This is his prize.
-‘Take the golden key of our city as a prize because you are brave; you are a hero! You helped your classmates and your teachers!’, says the major. ‘Everybody should be like him’, he continues.
His parents, his teachers, and his classmates cheer and clap. Everybody is proud of him! Every year on February 13th there is a school celebration. The teachers talk about the heroic student, about how brave we should be in difficult situations; there is also a discussion about volunteerism and how the students should react in case an earthquake happens.
