It was a normal day on September 9th 1939, I was outside playing ball with my friends, we heard a big loud airplane flying above us I lived in Canada, my house was about 5 miles from a Airport, It was normal for me to see and hear big airplanes, this time it wasn't a normal airplane, it was to high for it to be just taking off, and it was gray, it had a weird

looking flag, it was black, red and orange. It wasn't the normal Military aircrafts that Canada has. It was way too big, me and my friends thought nothing of it and kept playing ball, they had to go home at 7:00pm. Me and my family had dinner together not knowing what we were

going to wake up to.

September 10, 1939

Everyone in my house and in the neighborhood woke up to a big BANG! We heard a knock on my door, I went to look who it was and it was a Canadian Soldier, I answered the door. “Hey little one!” He said “Is your daddy home?” he asked “Yes he is, he's eating breakfast sir.” I said “Can I come in and talk to him for a minute?” He asked, "I knew not to say no to a Soldier because it was disrespectful, “Yes, just make sure not to let my kitty out please.” I said, he laughed and said "Ok, Mr. Léo Major?” He said, dad jumped, “Oh, hello Sir.” Leo Major said.

“You need to pack things, you're being drafted into WW-ll.” Said the soldier, Mom broke down in tears, so did I. Dad was holding it in, it mumbeld “ok.”

He went and packed some stuff, he took one of our family pictures with him. Dad said bye to everyone and gave us a hug, when the door to our house shut everything felt like it stopped moving, and it was silent.

September 11, 1939 (Léo Major’s perspective)

“GET DOWN!” Said one of the men, “BOOM!!” There was an explosion, when it was over 30 seconds later, we carefully got up with our guns. We saw a man crawling on the ground towards us. He didn't have the Canadian uniform, we saw the flag on his sleeve, it was ripped and dirty, he was a Japanese Soldier, Japan and Canada were enemies not Allies.

September 12, 1939

It felt like a normal ish day, no loud noises. 12:00pm. “Pew! Pew! Pew!” We all panicked, we got our guns and started shooting, the Japanese invaded Canada. We saw boats pulling up on Shore,

the gates dropped, there ran about 47 men ran off and started making there way up to the gunners base, there were bullets from an LMG going every witch way, only two men made it up to the gunners base only one made it to the door, the other one dropped his gun and all his gear and begged for mercy.

September 13, 1939

There were 6 boats sent over to invade Germany with some British soldiers, we killed most of the German soldiers, not all were dead. It became nighttime and we were listening to the news. We heard a strange voice, not in English or Canadian Spanish, it was a German voice.

Wenn Menschen leben wollen, dann sind sie gezwungen, andere zu töten.“ we couldn't make out the voice. “Guys… that voice is Hitlers voice.” Said the General. “Can't be that sounds nothing like him!” “Because it's in a different language not English like we speak.” “Bring the translator! And do it now!” Leo said. “YELL AT ME ONE MORE TIME MR. LEO MAJOR! YOUR GUTS WILL BE BEHIND BARS! POSSIBLY IN A COUGHEN!” Said the General. “Ye- Ye- Yes sir.” “EVERYBODY SLEEP! I DON'T WANT TO HEAR A PEEP OUT OF ANY OF YOU GUYS!”

Said the General. “SIR YES SIR!” Said the soldiers. “Leo Major. I need a word with you, Now!” Said the General. Leo got up and followed the General. “Yes sir? Said Leo ``Why in your right mind would you yell at me and demand orders from me when you're just a little Recruiter? Huh? Explain that to me!” Said the General. “I'm sorry sir. I just miss home. I miss my

daughter, I miss my wife, I miss everybody. I just want to go home. I get mad when I miss home. I'm sorry sir.” Leo said.

November 3, 1939

It had been a few months since the war started. We lost hundreds of people. General Terry was not in the war anymore; he had committed suiside due to the war. I had made my way up to Officer i was 4th, Things started slowly calming down. I knew that the war wasn't going to stop for a long time.

December 24, 1939

It was the first Christmas that Leo Major had without his family. He made friends but most of them were killed. Not much happened on that day because people were enjoying their time together. I managed to get a hold of a phone to call my family. It took a few tries before they answered. “Hello?” Said Mrs. Major. “Hello.” Said Leo. All Leo herd was Mrs. Major saying. “KIDS DAD IS ON THE PHONE!” Leo chuckled. “Hi dad!” The kids said. “Hey guys how's christmas so far?”

Said Leo. “It's going well. We have one of your gifts here under the tree! We aren't moving the tree or taking it down until you're back, same with your present!” Said Leo's Daughter. “Ok that sounds good, I hope you have a good—” BOOM! Pew, Pew Pewwwwwww! “Guys I have to let you go guys, I love you guys!” Click. The call was over.
