In the heart of Surakarta, two students of Al Abidin Islamic Junior High School, Bayu and Faisal, were the best of friends. They both shared a deep connection not only through their studies but also through their shared faith in Islam. Bayu, a diligent and devoted student, was known for his unwavering commitment to his religious practices.
One sunny afternoon, after school, Bayu found a quiet corner in the school courtyard to perform his Asr prayer. As he stood in prayer, focused on his connection with Allah, a mischievous classmate, Rizky, approached with a grin on his face.
"Hey, Bayu, what are you doing?" Rizky asked, trying to disturb his concentration.
Bayu, with his eyes closed, calmly carried on praying to Allah.
Unfazed by his response, Rizky continued to make playful gestures, attempting to disrupt his prayer. That's when Faisal, another friend from their class, stepped in, a look of disapproval on his face.
"Rizky, stop it! Can't you see Bayu is praying? Show some respect!" Faisal scolded.
Rizky chuckled, thinking it was just a harmless joke, but Faisal was firm in his stance. "This is not something to joke about. It goes against the values we hold dear, especially the first principle of Pancasila – Belief in the One and Only God. We shouldn't disturb our friends who are praying"
Bayu finished his prayer and opened his eyes, grateful for Faisal's intervention. He nodded at Faisal, appreciating his support.
Faisal turned to Rizky, "We must respect each other's beliefs. It's a fundamental principle of Pancasila, our national ideology. We should foster understanding and unity, not create divisions."
Rizky, realizing his mistake, apologized to Bayu, acknowledging the importance of religious tolerance. As the three friends continued to walk home together, they engaged in a conversation about the rich diversity of Indonesia, where people of various faiths coexisted harmoniously.
The story ends happily with Bayu, Faisal, and Rizky standing together, united in their commitment to Pancasila's principles and the values of respect and tolerance. Through their actions, they not only deepened their friendship but also contributed to creating a more inclusive and harmonious school environment.
