During this age, I would have coped with all the difficulties I faced by facing them head-on and not standing down because it was hard to do. I would have fought just like the women of the time did. During the Progressive era being strong and hard-working are what got people the furthest in life. Being able to bounce back from struggles was important because I had to be able to bounce back up and still work as hard as I could to make a living and stay fed. The AI gave further inquiry about the struggles different people of the time faced like the poor housing tenements that 2/3 of the population had to live in. Using the AI I could further inquire about the personal experiences of those at the time and how they suffered.
Events like the Triangle Shirtwaist Factory fire shaped the perspectives of many different people who had only seen America one way before and now would see it as it truly was behind the scenes. It changed the way wealthy Americans perceived what was happening in factories like it made them see the problems they needed to solve for the safety of everyone. Along with the people who immigrated here, they brought their traditions and culture here with them which is the cause of places like Chinatown today in New York. This age inspired women to take a stance on how they were treated and make a change to their restrictions just because of their gender. The connection I see from this age today is a woman's right to vote as a girl it is an important change in my life that will affect me for the rest of my life once I turn eighteen.
Life in my time isn't easy for women like me. I am a young woman just getting a grasp on the world who is now being faced with the unfair discrimination of all women. Living in this age has sparked new hope in many women that they might finally get the rights they deserve but it is a hard uphill battle we must fight.

Women work in small factories with very little pay and poor conditions. We do the same job but get paid far less than any man. These perceptions of women being lesser than a man have been created through many years of women only being made to take care of children and seeing them as something to be owned not valued.

We gave birth and took care of our children yet we have no legal rights to them they are tied to our husbands. Women cope with this by staying with their husbands even if they can't stand them so that they won't lose their children. Most women refuse to get divorced because that would mean we had no claim to our children so even if our husbands were horrible we wouldn't do anything about it.

We don't just sit around and deal with these issues though, we are giving to change them. Working women are leading protests to raise their wages and we fight daily to make a change to these unfair laws. My perseverance has made me successful throughout this time because I don't back down when I'm told I can't do something. I fought alongside women like Susan B. Anthony and Jane Addams who continued to inspire me to fight for our voting rights.
