Initially, I had never dreamed of becoming a lawyer. Yes, I know... sounds odd right? But must I introduce you to where things all started.

As a child, my Aunt was the person I looked up to. I was fascinated with her life. She graduated at the top of her class, drove a nice car for her age, and attended a local technical college close by where we lived. She always hung out with her friends but still made time for her classes and homework. She had chosen the Health Science career field, aspiring to become a pharmacy tech, and seemed to have been doing everything right in college.
With her as my role model, I aspired to become something in the medical field. I even used to be read her textbooks while she was in class to get a better understanding of health sciences and grasp a better understanding of what she was learning at McFatter Technical College. I was invested at a very young age!
I started spending more time in school and completing my own homework and less invested in my Aunt's work. I loved school so much! I developed a deep love for learning and education. All my teachers loved me and treated me like a teacher's pet. It had even gotten to the point where I asked some of my teachers to allow me to take old textbooks and worksheets home at the end of the school year so I could play school with my cousins and friends during the summer. I did this throughout my years of elementary school. As my connection with education deepened, I had figured that I should be an educator.

To my understanding, middle school came super quick! It was challenging to adapt as a six grader because my school was big. My teachers were not as kind as the ones I had in elementary which forced me to "get with the program" at a more faster pace. And things took a short turn when I given the opportunity to be apart of my middle school's Law Magnet program based on my grades and selection of elective classes.
My middle school's Law Magnet program was reason for my change in direction as it related to my career field. At first, I wanted to be a pharmacy technician, then an educator with small hopes of still being in the medical field. But my plans took a total shift once I got to middle school. The legal and law enforcement field interested me on a totally different level! I wanted to explore both perspectives. My teacher awarded trips to our local state attorney's office, guests speakers ranging from judges to Secret Service officers and I loved every aspect of it. It was much of a thrill to me so I knew this field was indeed one I was going to love. Being apart of the program made me realize that I wanted a job in the field, but I just couldn't choose one.
