Hello everybody! As you may know, I will be teaching you Algebra II, Precalculus, or Calculus.

As such, I put this short book together, so you can learn a little bit about me before we kick the year off.

I was born and lived in Blytheville, Arkansas until I was around 13. For those of you who may be unfamiliar, it is very similar culturally to Memphis, Tennessee.

Additionally, the area is predominantly African American, being 55.3% of the population. Further, roughly a quarter of the population is below the poverty line, contributing to increased crime.

I moved to Dewitt in 8th grade, living there until the fall after graduation. Dewitt is significantly more rural than Blytheville, so it was quite the learning experience.

Sophomore year, I met and began talking with my now fiancé, Hailey Zornes. We have been together about six years, and they have been some rough ones that have brought us close.

Academically, I graduated at the top of my class. I took 6 AP courses. Of these, the most impactful was Calculus, but Psychology was definitely the most fun to learn about.

In high school, I received eight athletic letters. Two of my letters were cross country, three were track, and the remaining three were from basketball. Out of these, the most notable thing would be getting all-conference in cross country junior year.

From the summer of junior year into the fall before college, I worked at a local landscaping and nursery company called Lauren's Garden.

The summer of junior year I attended Boys State. Since then, I have been serving the program as a counselor to help foster the next generation of leaders.

 Junior and senior year, I took a ton of classes at PCCUA. While community colleges get a lot of backlash, these classes prepared me well for a four-year university.

At the start of senior year, I did not quite know where I wanted to go for college. However, I knew it would be either UCA or ATU.
