Today I turned fifteen! I had a fun shopping with 

some of my close friends. One of them left earlier 

than the rest of us, but when we left the mall, she 

was standing outside. Much to my surprise, she was 

smoking meth! She wasn't happy that we saw her, 

but she peer pressured my other friends into taking 

the drug. Not wanting them to think I was a coward, 

I tried it as well.

After taking the drug on my birthday, I was addicted to 

meth and I kept taking it. I acted violently and had 

severe mood swings. The side affects worsened as 

time increased, and my family was worrying about me. 

My concerned parents found out about my addiction 

were devastated, sending me to rehab and forcing me 

to live at a girls home. My family was disappointed and 

ashamed of me, no longer wanting me as a relative 

addicted to drugs.

While I was at the girls home and in rehab, all my 

friends from before taking drugs stopped associating 

with me, even the ones who pressured me into taking 

drugs. The kids in the girls home with me were quiet 

and had very negative attitudes. They didn't try to get 

to know me, and I had little friends there. Because of 

drugs, I lost my friends and my family.
