I thought I was going to be having a 

completely normal kindergarten field trip, 

but the moment NASA called me, 

everything changed I became the 1st 

Kindergartner to go to space, but before I 

get ahead of myself, let`s start from the 

beginning.

It was a normal kindergarten day, I was in 

class coloring outside of the lines like usual 

daydreaming about what it would be like to go 

to space like the astronauts, then I heard Mrs. 

Johnson give an announcement " Class 

tomorrow we will be going to the NASA lab, for 

all who are super excited to be going on this 

trip, make sure you bring you camera 

tomorrow to take pictures of some great 

memories". The minute I heard those words I 

literally burst out in a scream that filled the 

classroom, I was so excited I would be going  

to a place 

that I have always dreamed of going, I knew 

this would be TOTALLY AWESOME! As got home 

from a long day of boring Kindergarten, I ran to 

my room, I searched for the largest backpack I 

had and stuffed everything I would need for the 

field trip, pencils, a large composition notebook 

and of course my camera I couldn`t miss a 

single second of all this excitement. As I 

completed all my packing it was 8:30 at night, 

my mom walked into the room and told me it 

was time to go to sleep, I curled up into my bed 

and soon fell asleep after.

Finally, it was morning. I woke up and went to 

my closet to find something to wear. Once I was 

nice and dressed, I went downstairs to the 

kitchen to have some cereal for breakfast. Once 

my mom came into the room she said " Joanne, 

how do you think your field trip is going to be 

today? I was kind of surprised that she asked me 

that question, she knows how much I love NASA 

and space, even though she asked that I still 

replied to her and said " I think I will have the 

best time EVER, I hope I get to go inside the lab, 

that would be SUPER- deluxe awesome, if you 

know what I mean". 

I think my mom was pretty glad to know that I 

was probably going to be the most excited kid 

at NASA, I mean don`t you know that a lot of 

kids my age aren`t all that very interested into 

space and all that totally cool stuff. Once I 

finished my cereal, I put the bowl into the sink 

and went outside to wait for the bus.

As the school bus finally arrived, I walked 

inside, turned into my favorite spot and sat 

down. Even though the school bus is very, 

very loud I still find some way to read my 

space books about famous Astronauts, I guess 

that`s a talent I have. As the bus stopped in 

front of our school and everyone walked out, I 

saw my best friend Angela waiting for me to come 

out. As I walked out of the doors from the school bus 

Angela walked up yo me and said "Aren`t you just 

totally excited to be going on this field trip? I mean 

you love space why would you be".

My friend Angela did know me pretty well, we 

have been friends since we were both born, so 

I told her " Of course I am excited, we are 

going to the NASA lab the place I have always 

dreamed of going I couldn`t miss it for the 

world". As me and Angela got inside of the 

classroom, we unpacked our bags put them in 

our lockers took our field trip stuff out, walked 

to our desk and listened to the teachers 

announcement "Good Morning class, today is 

going to be a very exciting day, we are going 

to the NASA lab. For all of you who have 

brought cameras make sure they stay in your 

bags because some things in NASA are top 

secret, wait till your told to take pictures".

Soon the field trip bus called us to come 

outside. Everyone got in a line with there field 

trip bags on there backs, I think I was the most 

excited kid because I was the only one 

squealing. As we made our way down to the 

bus, and inside, everything got loud all over 

again, but that was okay because, I was going 

to the NASA lab I was sitting with my friend 

and I had a good book to read, this was going 

to be the best day ever.
