The purpose of this project is to encourage students to explore
the world around them through current events. This is a flip book
of a few current events for the months of October and November.
This project also encourages the use of technology through these
web-articles. The brief paragraph from the web-article is used to
spark the students' interest to learn more about the world around
them. The questions on each page is to encourage students to
think more critically about events occuring in the world around them
and how they can relate or play a role in their own lives.

"Pakistani youth activist Malala Yousafzai, 17, was

awarded the 2014 Nobel Peace Prize on Friday,

October 10. She is the youngest Nobel winner in

history... Both winners were recognized 'for their

struggle against the suppression of children and young

people and for the right of all children to education,'

the Norwegian Nobel Committee announced on

Friday."
