De’Andre, a 15-year-old suburban boy, struggled to navigate freshman year. Corner on varsity football for the Eagles, 5’8, 152. De’Andre was 16th in the country with a slim muscular build and slight mustache coming in; the freshman was an average-looking guy. Friends,
Kayla and Zy’air accompanied him on the first day of high school. De’Andre is a very nice boy, but after losing his biggest connection to football, his dreams become clouded. Andrea, DeAndre‘s closest friend and sister, has started college and left him feeling lost. Wanting to live up to the Stewart name wasn’t too difficult for the four-star, but the battle inside his head was more difficult than anyone could imagine. Every mirror showed a boy who was too small. Are all the things the voices are saying true? Is he not good enough? Would his dad even be proud of him?
