250 gr. fresh butter
2 fl. sugar
6 eggs
1 fl. milk
1 tbsp baking powder
1 vanilla
1 orange (zest)


Baking :
Bake in a preheated oven at 170°C on the lower rack for about 55 minutes. Let it stand for 10 minutes in the pan and turn it over on a rack to cool. Sift powdered sugar on top, if desired. Fluffy and delicious, it will bring luck to your home and many happy smiles to your loved ones. Make it too and you will remember me!

Kürtőskalács...
... is a Hungarian chimney cake. With our easy recipe, you can make a homemade funnel cake in the oven and enjoy this traditional sweet pastry.

Ingredients
500 g all-purpose flour
250 ml milk
2 eggs
50 g melted butter
30 g yeast
1 tsp sugar
pinch of salt
granulated sugar for rolling
1 tsp cinnamo
oil

Preparation
1. Sift the flour into a bowl and mix with the salt. Heat the milk until lukewarm, add the sugar and yeast, then cover and let it rise for 8-12 minutes.
2. Add the yeast mixture, egg, and melted butter to the flour and knead it into a flexible dough. Cover with a kitchen towel and let it rest for 1 hour until the dough doubles in size.
3. Place the rested dough on a lightly floured surface. Using a rolling pin, roll it out to the thickness of your finger. Cut it lengthwise into 2 cm wide strips.
4. Mix the sugar and cinnamon together. Grease the wooden stick using some oil. Take a strip of dough and roll it tightly onto the greased can. Brush the dough with oil then roll it in cinnamon sugar.
5. Place the chimney cake in an oven preheated to 200 degrees for 20-25 minutes until golden brown.
The little preschoolers were excited to prepare this dessert ....

... and they were very proud to make known the way to prepare this traditional sweet pastry.

Polenta with cheese and sour cream
To cook the polenta - Mămăligă (Romanian pronunciation: [məməˈliɡə] - we boiled water, salt and maise flour. Traditionaly, mămăliga, is thiker than the Italian polenta and can be cut in slices as the bread. We had a soft polenta.
We served the polenta with cheese and sour cream.

Maltese Food
We brought some typical Maltese food to school today!
We also made our typical Ħobż biż-Żejt.



Kinnie is made in Malta. It is sour orange flavoured softdrink.
Twistees are made in Malta. They are backed salty snacks.

Bread with Oil
- You need bread, tomato paste, tuna, olives and oil.
- Spread the tomato paste on the slices of bread.
- You put some tuna and olives and pour some oil.
- Close the bread like a sandwich.
- Yummy it is delicious.

Traditional Greek lagana
Greek lagana (a bread for Clean Monday)
Ingredients
400gr flour for all purposes, 400gr flour for pies, 2 little spoons salt, 16gr baker’s yeast,450gr lukewarm water, 2 table spoons sugar, 2 table spoons olive oil, Sesame
Making
In a big bowl we mix the 2 flours with the salt. In a smaller bowl we mix the sugar, the water and the baker’s yeast and we let it rest for 10 minutes. We add in the small bowl the olive oil and then we mix it with the flours. We knead for 10 minutes and then we let it rest for 30-40 minutes. After, we make 4 smaller pieces and we roll them to spread in thin pieces into a big pan. We make holes with our finger throughout the pieces, we drop sesame and then we bake for 20-25 minutes in 200 degrees. We hope you enjoy it!






GALICIAN FILLOAS:
INGREDIENTS:
- 3 eggs
- 500 ml of milk
- 200 grams of wheat flour
- 30 grams of sugar
- A dash of anisette
- A teaspoon of salt

PREPARATION:
You need a bowl. First take the eggs, then mix the milk, the wheat flour, the sugar, a dash of anisette and the teaspoon of salt.
Then, you need a pan, put some oil in it and heat it. When the pan is hot put some of the mixture in it, when it’s brown turn around. Put the filloa in a dish and put some sugar on it.
