is for Atmosphere
Astronauts start their journey to space by traveling in their rocket ships through the Earth's Atmosphere! Our atmosphere is the layer of gases above Earth that regulates life and weather.

is for Biosphere
Before we can travel into space, we first must make sure our astronauts are healthy in the biosphere! Our biosphere supports all life on Earth, including us!

is for Cloud

A stormy cloud! We may expect some rain showers on our journey. These may look like cotton balls, but clouds are huge masses of water vapor in the sky!

is for Drought

We hadn't had rain in a long time! Before the storm, we were experiencing a drought. During droughts, we go long periods without rain.

is for equator

Once we travel to the equator, we will be the same distance away from both the North and South poles. This imaginary line separates the two halves of our planet!

is for flood

On our journey, if there is too much rain from Clouds, we may see some flooding. Too much rain can cause our oceans, rivers, streams, and lakes to become too full of water. This can cause these bodies of water to overflow and flood an area!

is for Granite

We all live and start our journey on Earth's most outer layer, the crust. The hard rock called Granite is commonly found within and throughout Earth's crust!

is for Hail

"Ouch! What is that falling from the sky?"
If the temperature drops during our journey, we may experience hail. During a thunderstorm, some raindrops will freeze before hitting the ground. This is why we feel little balls of ice hit us!

is for Ice burg

What is that floating in the ocean? it looks like a huge ice cube! When big chunks of glaciers break off into smaller pieces, it makes the ice burg we can see here!
is for Jupiter

As we travel through space on our journey, we will pass the planets in our huge solar system! Jupiter is our largest planet.
is for Kelp

Did you know we have plants in our oceans?
Well, we have many! Kelp is a type of large seaweed found in the ocean. This plant supports ocean life!
is for Lightning

I just saw a flash of light in the sky! We saw a storm cloud earlier, now we might be seeing some lightning! When opposite charges build up in a cloud and then move toward each other, this creates the massive spark of electricity we see in the sky.

is for Moon

While we are on our journey, how will we be able to see when night falls? The Moon lights up our sky at night!

is for Neptune

We've come across another planet in our solar system! This large and icy planet, Neptune, is our windiest planet!
is for Ocean

Through our travels, we will see that the earth is covered in water. The Ocean covers more than 70% of our planet!
is for Pluto

A new planet on our journey!...........Or is it?!
This was once our solar system's smallest planet. But Pluto was reclassified as a dwarf planet in 2006.
