Chapter 1: Introduction

Do you know why I’ m unlucky? Because I lived in the U.S only for four 

months just to find out that I didn’t have power for 3 days and 3 nights because of a bomb cyclone. And 1 person died, 2 people injured, just because of a bomb 

cyclone. And worst of all, no cooking with electricity, no hot showers for some 

people, no internet, a lot of trees fell down, and no lights. And this was probably 

the biggest cyclone in almost a century because this bomb cyclone affected 

more than 500,000 people including having no electricity.

Chapter 2: No Power?

This bomb cyclone happened in a sad Tuesday in like the afternoon and luckily 

during school, the power didn’t went out yet, but when I went home every 

minute, the lights would flicker a lot of times. But we still had power including

 Wi-Fi. But when I was watching YouTube until 10:00PM, the power went out 

and didn’t restore, and everything was very dark, and I was scared of the dark 

so, I quickly got back upstairs where my sister and my mom were. And the first 

thing my mom said to me when she saw me was, “Let’s lit

the candles as quick as 

we can and bring all the flashlights in this house.” so we tried to lit all the 

candles in our house and when we searched for flashlights, we only had 1 

flashlight. But after we lit all our candles in our house and turned on the 

flashlight, the rooms were still dark. And after we did all that tiring stuff, I said 

to my mom, “Why do we have no power? Will we have power back later.” “We 

have no power because of a bomb cyclone, and we will not have power for a few 

days and this is because a lot of trees broke the power lines for a lot of people. 

Most of the city’s close here has no electricity and there are a lot of cities. So it 

will take a long time for the people who fix the power to fix our place because the 

people can’t fix every power outage place here. They need time to fix it so it will 

take a long time,” mom replied. Then I slept because we can’t really do anything 

and night and power Is out.
