August prepared for his first day of second grade. He is overjoyed to be attending this new, big, and exciting school. He put on his bright pink shirt, which he is excited to have shown off on his first day.
"I love my pink shirt, and I can't wait to go make some new friends in it", states August as he prepared to greet his family in the kitchen.

I love my pink shirt, and I can't wait to go make some new friends in it.
August left his room in his bright pink shirt. He went into the kitchen ready to quickly indulge in the delicious stack of pancakes his mother so kindly prepared for him this morning.
"Good morning Honey! I've made you some pancakes," said August's Mother.
"Thank you.." he said before he started shoveling them down the hatch.

"thank you..." *nom nom nom*
"Good morning Honey! I've made you some pancakes"
August left home and started his journey through the elegant forest on his way to school. He was open-minded about the day ahead as he heard the birds chirping that morning.
August greeted the beautiful deer and said, "Have a beautiful day!", as he passed by them.

"Have a beautiful day!"
August finished his journey through the woods as others arrived at school off of a school bus. He was not bothered by this fact because he loved to roam around in nature.
Two boys hopped off of the bus, so August walked over to them to try and create new friendships. August asked them their names, "Hi guys I'm August, what's your name?", August asked. One responded "I'm Zane", and another responded, "I'm Patrick". Both exchanged confused glances as they responded to August's question.
August brushed off their judgemental glances as a mistake and headed into his first day, which he was still so excited about.

"I'm Zane..."
"I'm Patrick..."
"Hi guys I'm August, what's your name?".
With A bright smile on his face, August walked into school and was ready to meet who would be his teacher for the upcoming school year. Optimistic and curious about who it might be, he rushed to be the first to class. "Hello, Mrs.", August said as he entered the classroom.
Zane and Patrick followed behind him and quickly realized that they had a class with him, so they started to quietly gossip when they entered class, "Ew, we have a class with the girly kid.", Zane whispered to Patrick as they arrived at the classroom.

"Hello, Mrs."
"Ew, we have class with the girly kid."
After greeting his new teacher, eager to learn, August found his seat and sat down ready for the next instruction. He spent the next hour or two attentively learning how to multiply. He then learned the basics of sentence structures.
Across the classroom, Zane and Patrick continued to speak negatively on August. "That pink shirt is so girly.", says Patrick. "Yeah, he dresses like a girl.", responded Zane.
