Once upon a time, there was a baby dragon named Sparky. He lived in a large cave with his mother in a magical forest. Today, Sparky was very excited. He was going to explore the forest for the first time.

Sparky asked his mother if he could go outside the cave.
"Alright," she said.
"You can go, but be careful my little spark. You may look different from the other creatures in the forest, but you are still special."
"Okay Mama. I will."

So Sparky went into the forest. Even though it was beautiful and he was very excited, there was still something that he wanted more than just being in the forest. What he wanted more than anything, was a friend. He began looking for a one as he walked.
As Sparky walked along, he found a little rabbit. He tried to talk to him to see if he wanted to play.
"Hi, I'm Sparky. Do you want to play?"
The little rabbit looked at Sparky, but even if Sparky was trying to be nice the rabbit was scared by his sharp teeth, claws, and big horns.
"S-Sorry," he stuttered.
"I have to go... gather carrots!" Then he ran off as fast as his little feet could carry him.

Then Sparky found a tiny yellow bird, and asked him the same thing.
"Would you like to play?"
Once again, when the little bird saw how big Sparky was, and his teeth, claws, and large horns, he got scared too.
"Actually, I have to return to my nest. Right now!"
The little bird then flew away into the trees.

Even if Sparky was feeling disappointed, he wanted to try again. He soon found a tiny turtle walking through the forest. Sparky then asked again.
"Would you like to play with me?"
Just like the others, the turtle felt scared when he saw Sparky's claws, teeth, and large horns. He began to hide in his shell.
"Sorry, but I'm about to take a nap." He pulled his head and feet in and waited for Sparky to leave.

Sparky tried and tried, but he couldn't seem to make a friend. All the animals either had something to do, they were hiding, or they just ran away when they saw Sparky coming.

Sparky soon was very sad. He just couldn't understand why he had not made any friends. So he walked through the forest by himself.
