The story was created based on the storytelling of children aged 5 to 6 from the Octopus group, Hrastnik Kindergarten, Slovenia.

»Medved, dobro jutro.
One sunny morning, a wolf went for a walk in the forest. As he was strolling past a forest clearing, he noticed a bear cleaning up trash. He decided to help the bear, as he was a kind wolf.
"Good morning, Bear. Do you need help?" asked the wolf.
"Oh, how kind you are, Wolf. Yes, I do need help," replied the bear.
"Bear, how did this trash get into the forest? Who threw it here?" asked the wolf.
"I think some children had a picnic in the forest," answered the bear.
"Did you see them?" the wolf asked.
"No, I just heard a sound I’d never heard before. Then I went to take a look and saw the trash. I thought to myself, maybe some children had a picnic," said the bear.
"Interesting," thought the wolf. "Do you think maybe the snail saw who threw the trash?"
"I don’t know, but we can ask him," said the bear.

Medved in volk sta odŠla do grma, pod katerim je stanoval polž. Potrkala sta na njegovo hišico.
»Zdravo polžek. A ti mogoče veš, kdo je v gozdu odvrgel smeti?« sta vprašala volk in medved.
»Vem, ja« odvrne polž.
»Reeees, kdo pa?« zanima volka in medveda.
»Dva fanta,« jima pove polž.
»Si ju videl?« sta ga vprašala volk in medved.
The bear and the wolf went to the bush where the snail lived. They knocked on his little house.
"Hello, Snail. Do you maybe know who threw the trash in the forest?" asked the wolf and the bear.
"I do, yes," replied the snail.
"Reeeally? Who was it?" asked the wolf and the bear, curious.
"Two boys," said the snail.
"Did you see them?" they asked.
"Of course, I was hiding in the bushes and watching through my binoculars," the snail told them.
"Oh dear, don’t they know that’s wrong? You’re not supposed to do that," the wolf scolded.
"I’ve got it! We’ll set a trap for them, so they’ll never leave trash in the forest again," suggested the wolf.
The three forest friends liked the wolf’s idea. To set the trap, they would first need a net. They decided to make it out of grass and cover it with leaves from the trees. They would tie the trap to a tree branch with a string and wait for the boys to get caught in it.
But the bear was too heavy to climb the tree branch, the wolf didn’t know how to climb, and the snail wasn’t strong enough to carry the string and climb at the same time.

»Veverica, rabimo tvojo pomoč«, so jo poklicale živali.
They called for help from the squirrel, who lived in the trunk of a tall spruce tree.
"Squirrel, we need your help!" the animals called out to her.
"Could you climb the tree and tie the string around the branch so we can set up the net trap? We want to catch the boys who threw trash in the forest," the animals explained.
"Yes, I’ll help you, since you don’t know how to climb," said the squirrel.

The bear found a large stone and tied it to the rope, attaching the other end of the rope to the net. The squirrel carried the stone and rope up to the tree branch, where it would wait until the boys fell into the trap.
The wolf then remembered that they still needed some chestnuts to place on top of the net, which would be hidden under the leaves. But no one wanted to touch the spiky chestnut shells – they didn’t want to hurt their paws.

They turned to the hedgehog for help.
"Hedgehog, could you please help us collect chestnuts so we can put them on the trap? We want to catch the boys who left trash in the forest. If you help us, we’ll leave you some chestnuts to enjoy as a treat," the animals explained.
"I’ll help, yes I will," said the hedgehog.

The hedgehog rolled over the spiky chestnut shells, which stuck to his quills. He carried them to the tree and dropped them onto the net.
There – the trap was ready. The animals went to sleep.

Drugi dan se v gozdu spet sliši tisti nenavaden zvok. Medved hitro pokliče živali in jim pove, da sta v gozd spet prišla fanta. Zgleda, da bosta imela piknik.
S sabo imata odejo, nahrbtnika, notri pa sok, čips in bombone.
The next day, that strange sound was heard in the forest again. The bear quickly called the other animals and told them that the boys had come back to the forest. It looked like they were going to have a picnic.
They had a blanket with them, two backpacks, and inside were juice, chips, and candies.

All the animals took their positions. The squirrel climbed up the tree, while the other animals hid in the bushes and waited for the boys to notice the chestnuts and start collecting them.
