Jason Hawthorn was huntingfor the moose with his dog King.
He had crossed the river following
the tracks of the moose. He climbed
up on the in the woods.knoll

When the tracks stopped, he looked up, and there lay the moose, dead as a
door nail. When he walked over, the moose
blinked and twitched it's ear. When it got
up, Jason quickly got his gun and shot the
moose again, finally killing it.

meat Jason took out his hunting knifeand cut off some of the moose
meat and took it home at his cabin
by the river. It was getting dark
outside, so he hurried inside to
get warm.
When Jason got inside, he
took some of the moose meat and
cooked it, then ate dinner. .

A few days later, a boy namedCharlie came to the cabin. Jason
noticed he had frostbite on his leg.
Jason invited him in. after a few
days of resting, Charlie was almost

After no time at all, Charlie's legwas much better and he was willing
to help Jason find the bear burrow.
They crossed the lake and found a hole.
They shoved a stick down and moments
later, 3 ginormous black bears emerged
from the hole. Jason, Charlie, and King
quickly got ready. Jason took his gun out,
King bared his teeth, and Charlie, he pulled
out his hunting knife.

Each one of them got their own bear tokill. After they all got their bears, they took
as much meat as they could carry and ran home.
When they got home, Charlie noticed King was
limping. He took a closer look and saw King had
a deep cut on his leg that had to be taken care of
quick!
Charlie alerted Jason and Jason wrapped King's
leg in a strip of clothe. Later the next day Jason and Charlie
went to get the rest of the bear meat and King had to stay
behind because of his leg. When Jason and Charlie went
to get the meat, almost half of it was gone from other
animals that found it.

The next day they heard a groan, then a crack, then the sound of
rushing water. They ran outside
and saw the most outrageous thing
in their lives! They saw a chunk of
ice bigger than their cabin! Then a
bunch more ice came down the river
some more. "Holey cow!" Jason
shouted.
They quickly ran to their cabin, Jason
grabbed king and Charlie grabbed the
remaining meat, and they put that into
their canoe. Then, they packed everything
they had and loaded their boat and when
all the ice had moved down the river, they
went afloat and went on their way to Dawson!

When they reached Dawsonthey staked a claim on a
good piece of land. A few
hours of good hard work and
Jason and Charlie had already
gotten $200! but then, jason's
foot got mired in the hole they made,
but luckily Charlie was there to
free Jason.Now, they
were ready to find Jason's
brothers! They found them at
a sawmill they owned.
When he got there, Abraham
was very excited to see him
yet very surprised! "Jason!
How did you get here so
fast? What are you doing here?"
Abe asked. "I left only 3 days
after you did! " Jason answered.

then, Jason went to the theaterto see the show. He was very
surprised because Jamie was
performing at the end! He learned
that she was very proverbial in
dawson city.When she was
done everyone cheered.
Jason went to see her after the
show.
Jamie was very excited to see
Jason. "Tomorrow, do you want to
take a walk around town? I can show
you the town, I know it by heart!" Jamie
said. jason excitedly said, "Sure!"
