Feet.. but, why do you think, Ι need you??!
When Ι have wings to fly??

FRIDA KAHLO

Hello, my name is Frida!
I was born in Coyoacan, a small town near Mexico City. I wanted to become a doctor and, as a child, I always wanted to win every game and be the best.
I got polio at the age of six and had to stay in bed for nine months. The disease caused my right leg and foot to become much thinner than my left. After recovering, I walked with a limp. I've worn long skirts ever since to cover it.
My father encouraged me to play sports to help with my recovery. I played soccer, went swimming, and even wrestled—something quite unusual for a girl at that time.
I want you to know this for me..:
painting became my goal,
through my paintings you will see my truth.
I WILL ALWAYS FIGHT FOR WOMEN RIGHTS!
Remember never quit, no matter what!
You will learn you can try again and you will see you will succeed!!!
At the age of 18, Frida Kahlo was involved in a serious bus accident. She was badly injured and had to stay in the Red Cross Hospital in Mexico City for several weeks.
To pass the time and ease the pain, she began painting and completed her first self-portrait the following year. Frida Kahlo once said:
I paint myself because I am often alone and I am the subject I know best".
Her parents supported her passion for art by providing her with brushes, paints, and a special easel so she could paint while lying in bed. Frida eventually became a famous artist—not only for her powerful and personal art, but also for her political activism and fearless spirit, which inspired her to keep fighting and never give up.

It has been said that the revolution does not need art, but that art needs the revolution. That is not true. The revolution needs revolutionary art.

She began her careen as a children's book author in a male-dominated world where women did not always have equal opportunities.
At first, all of her stories were rejected, as
publishers believed that books featuring animals would not be successful.

We don't think your stories are intresting! We won't publish them...
But no one wanted to publish her story! :-(

She didn't give up!

LEONARDO DA VINCI
(1452 - 1519)
Leonardo da Vinci was a famous artist, inventor, and scientist during the Renaissance.
He is still remembered as one of the most brilliant minds in history.

Arkas Science and Art Center, İzmir - Türkiye
Leonardo da Vinci was born on 15 April 1452 in Anchiano, near Vinci, Republic of Florence (Italy).
His father, Ser Piero, was a Florentine notary and landlord, and his mother, Caterina, was a young peasant woman. He grew up on his father’s family’s estate and received the usual elementary education of that day: reading, writing, and arithmetic. When he was about 15, his father apprenticed him to an artist.
He was interested in nature, mechanics, geometry, flying machines, as well as architectural structures such as churches, castles and canals, and studied anatomy and trained students.
He died in Cloux, France on May 2, 1519, at the age of 67.

Leonardo da Vinci had to face many problems in his life.
-His parents were unmarried at the time of his birth; so he could not go to school. He had to learn for himself what he wanted to do.
-He was left-handed. He used Mirror writing. It was easy and natural for him.
-He did not always have enough money to finish his projects. Some of his inventions were too expensive or difficult to build at that time.

-Another problem was unfinished work. Leonardo started many paintings and inventions, but he often did not finish them because he liked to explore new ideas.
-Leonardo lived during a time when some of his ideas were too advanced. For example, he designed flying machines and war tanks, but the world was not ready for them. People did not understand or believe in his inventions.

Lautrec had a mobility problem. His legs stopped developing normally from the age of 12. Lautrec's height reached only 1.5 meters and unlike his legs, the rest of his body had normal growth.

Because of this abnormality in his physique, he was unable to follow a normal social life. This fact made him devote himself to painting.

The painter who influenced
the young Henri the most
in his subject matter was
Edgar Degas.
