Chapter 1: Back home!

Mia Jamieson stood in front of Platform 14 waiting for her train to come. "Mia! Mia! MIA!" Kiara Mina and Elizabeth Reign hugged Mia tight and smiled. "Hello guys I-" A loud chug filled the air and the three girls boarded the train with Kiara's twin sister Amravati. Mia smiled as she waved goodbye to her parents who were clearly trying not to cry. On the inside, she was excited to go, but on the outside, she was pretending to weep. The girls talked about the gold they had gotten last year and how they were going to use it
They all decided they were saving for college. The moving train relaxed Mia and made her sleepy.
Mia woke up to a stopped train and started ascending off of it. The headmaster waved from his usual spot and they sat in the dining hall. A yummy feast greeted their stomachs and made it full.
Mia went into her room and Amravati greeted her. As Mia unpacked, a green crystal fell into her hand.
She hid it from Amravati and ran to the common room where Elizabeth and Kiara were playing snap. "SNAP!" shouted Elizabeth and grabbed the cards in the middle. Mia showed them the crystal. "It's an Emerald!" They said in unison and Mia tried to forget the fact that it was in the bag and that they didn't buy it, while playing Snap. Grayson stomped in and punched a message into his phone. "I wonder what he's writing" Kiara said and Grayson stomped out of the room forgetting
about his phone while Elizabeth stole it. She inserted a SIM card in, and a bunch of new contacts boosted into her phone. "He has 2 SIM cards," she said as she scrolled in his phone. One of the contact messages said:
They forgot about the book and have the Emerald.
"What!" Said the girls and the memories from last year started all over.

Chapter 2: Grayson's message

"We forgot about the book!" shouted Kiara and Elizabeth groaned. Mia sighed, how did they forget about the book she got as an anonymous present last year? She found her book in the bag and studied it, someone knew about it last year and that was Grayson! "I do not understand," stated Elizabeth, and Kiara rubbed her palms together as Mia closed her eyes and asked, "Who is it from?" "His aunt!" shouted Elizabeth. People turned to peer
over at them. Mia put a finger to her lips. Grayson stormed into the room and Elizabeth let free of his phone. Grayson looked at his phone and smiled, this had been his plan the whole time. Then he snatched his SIM card away. Blonde hair caught the girls' eyes and they groaned. It was Penelope Walter, the fashion addicted and mean girl. "Oooh..." She started. "Need Penelope, you kids? Sure you do," she cackled like a witch, took a step
forward and laughed harder looking at Elizabeth's hard stone-like face. Then it happened as fast as a heartbeat, Mia quickly broke apart from the chair she was sitting on lunged forward and punched her hard. "No, you need Penelope; we need her to get out of our beeswax!" She pointed at Elizabeth, who was frozen. Of course, they never thought she punched people. "SHUT UP!" Penelope roared. "YOU SHUT UP!" Mia roared back. "Won't stop blabbering like a rich person, would you?"
Chapter 3: Detention and ice

"Fine," said Penelope in an ultra-sweet tone, then tugged her friends out of the common room, whispering and grumbling. Mia sighed and snapped shut. Kiara whispered to Mia, "The teacher's been told, you're getting detention," Kiara was trembling, and Mia knew by that voice something bad would happen.
Kiara was right, it was dull work and her hands ached from scrubbing the trophies and walls and walls and walls. By the end of the week, she finally got to stop scrubbing, and whatever. Her hands smelled like strong
detergent and she coughed every time she smelled it. But Elizabeth had good news for her, they had ice hockey try-outs, and Mia loved hockey.
The last goal for try-outs passed by and the 2 girls walked out grinning as they officially made the team for ice hockey. Kiara gave up the chance to try-out and decided to join the art club which Mia and Elizabeth didn't like.
"OOOOOK!" said Kiara as they headed to history, and Mia and Elizabeth both rolled their eyes and shoved their notebooks out. Kiara had just asked them a BILLION questions on hockey club, from the day before. "Hope you enjoyed our assistance, didn't you?" Elizabeth asked as Mia snickered. The 3 sat at their desks and listened to the most CONFUSING class ever and wrote notes about Switzerland history which Mia barely understood, but Elizabeth was the opposite with her culture and stories she already learnt. It was like Elizabeth was
teacher's pet. After class the 3 scrambled out of their desks, Elizabeth and Mia said bye to Kiara, and ran to hockey practice.
The moment they reached, Mia smiled. The ice was always there, but only open to second years at this time of the year. It was cold and fresh smelling. Beside her, Elizabeth smirked and said "2 more weeks 'till tournaments, we ARE gonna cook 'em." "Yes, we will." Said Mia and they grinned as they took their positions.
Chapter 4: Confusion

When Mia and Elizabeth ran back to the toasty common room, they found Kiara pondering over a small paper. "What's going on?" asked Mia. "When I was coming back from art, Grayson was talking to somebody. I saw this piece of paper fall from his pocket, but can't make out what it exactly says" There written on the paper it said,
"I will stay true to the group, and never reveal the true location." Ok Grayson?
Jonas
"Who's Jonas?" asked Mia "I dunno, but what I do know is that he wasn't talking to him. Because the voice sounded female. And it was soft." Said Kiara. "That was his mom, and I sorta made out the letter, but it's time for a family chat." Said Elizabeth "Nooo! Don't or we'll be in trouble again! He will push way out of it, as usual!" Yelped Mia, and Kiara started tugging Elizabeth's arm. But it was too late, Elizabeth had snatched the note and went over to Grayson. They had an intense conversation, and now it turned into a intense staring contest. "Guys, stop it!!" said Kiara
running over. She fanned Elizabeth's eyes, so that they would water. "Fine," said Elizabeth, ending the staring contest. Mia ran over and took the paper from Elizabeth's hand. "What's this?" She asked Grayson. "Something." Replied Grayson simply. But Mia had lost it. "TELL ME NOW!" Mia screamed. People started chiming in like: "Yeah, Grayson." "TELL HER NOW!" "Headmaster time!" "We're waiting..". "Ok, ok" Said Grayson "But only for you 3," he grabbed Elizabeth's hand, and Mia and Kiara trailed behind, as Elizabeth groaned, saying Grayson was gripping too tight on her.
Chapter 5: Grayson's side

"As you can see, it means: I will not reveal the true location, and I have to stay true to the group." Grayson finalized. "This is the fifth time I'm asking! What location?" Elizabeth asked crossing her arms. "Just tell us the place." Kiara sighed. Mia stayed silent. "It's none of your beeswax; that too, I cannot reveal it, said Grayson with a stomp. Elizabeth pinned him to the wall. "Tell us NOW!" she said, pinning Grayson harder. "Fine, fine, fine. Do you have the book?" "Yup" Kiara said with a nod. She gave it to him, and he flipped through the book. "Here..."
Grayson tapped on a page, as Elizabeth let go of him. "The dungeon museum." "The what museum?" "Dungeon. It's where the twelve birthstones live. Read the rest, and it's all yours," Grayson finished, with a clap. "Wait, wait," Mia said, finally speaking. "How did you know we had the book?" "I just did, bye, bye." And with that he stepped out of the room. "I guess we don't get our answer" Said Mia. "And I guess it's bedtime." Said Kiara rubbing her eyes, "Well dinner, but I'm skipping it." The others agreed. Mia ran to her room and lay
down on her bed. The door opened, and Amravati walked in. She looked at Mia and asked "Where were you guys at dinner?" Mia sat up, and said "We were too tired." Amravati nodded, then added, "Kiara's in her room right?" "Yup" It fell silent, and Amravati went to bed. Mia wondered why Amravati asked where Kiara is, of course she was in her room. Mia eyes started turning crusty, so pulled up her covers and fell asleep, dreams rushing towards her
Chapter 6: Tournaments

Weeks and days passed with stress, trying to figure out the true location of the Dungeon museum. But still, nobody forgot about the hockey tournaments. Mia pulled on a sweater with her number, and matching pants. Then she put on ice skates, and secured a helmet on her head. "Ready?" Said Elizabeth walking in, as her ice skates made funny noises. "Ready." Said Mia. They slowly made their way where their coach Angelina Summers stood, waiting for the team. Once Elizabeth and Mia came, she explained
everything. "We are winning this year, girls. We will play our best, without embarrassing Bellsone Boarding School. Got it?" Everyone nodded, then waited to go onto the ice.
Once they did, the game started. It was an intense one. Mia stood for goal, and hit the puck away from her. Elizabeth was shooting goals, while Kiara clapped in the audience. Mia also noticed she kept looking at Mia's book.
The one about Bellsone Boarding School. Mia also saw that Kiara was smiling at the game then frowning at the book.
The game ended and everyone was rejoicing because they won. Then Kiara came and pulled Mia and Elizabeth away. "I need to tell you guys something." "What?" asked Mia.
Chapter 7: The search

"So, you're saying that if good does the puzzle, it overweighs evil." Said Elizabeth. Kiara nods, "And, if evil does the puzzle it... overweighs good." The three of them sighed. "Wait, did any of you see Grayson today?" Mia asked. The other 2 shook there heads. "What if he's at the museum?" Pointed out Kiara. "Well we need to find the museum first then." Said Elizabeth. "Oh! I forgot. There's a secret door near a brick wall. I read it from the book." Said Kiara. "Let's go!"
One hour later
"Did anyone find anything?" asked Elizabeth "Nope" Replied Mia and Kiara. The girls were at the brick wall near their school, scanning it. "Aha!" Yelled Mia, pulling out a brick. Inside as a note saying:
Turn the knob, to reveal the hidden door. But first find the knob.
"Great. So it's not the end," said Kiara, starting
to climb the wall. The others joined, and Elizabeth found a brick-colored knob and twisted it. The door flung open and the girls jumped off the wall, to walk inside.

Chapter 8: The Hall of Whispers

The air grew colder as Mia, Kiara, and Elizabeth stepped into the Hall of Whispers. Soft voices fluttered around them, like leaves rustling in a quiet forest. No one was there, yet the whispers carried clear words.
“Twelve stones hold the key,” the voices murmured.
“Place them right, or never be free.”
The girls exchanged nervous glances but pressed forward. The narrow hallway stretched ahead, dark and shadowy, the whispers guiding their every step.
At last, they reached a grand stone pedestal. It was carved with twelve shallow slots, each shaped like a different gemstone. The walls were etched with faint calendar symbols — months of the year — barely visible in the dim light.
Beside the pedestal stood the Stone Guardian, a towering figure made of cracked crystals. Its eyes glowed with a soft, eerie light as it slowly came to life.
“To pass,” the guardian rumbled, “you must place the gemstones in order — from January’s garnet to December’s turquoise.”
Mia reached into the bag beside and pulled
out a small velvet pouch filled with twelve shimmering stones — the birthstones. Her hands trembled slightly as she lifted the first—a deep red garnet—and slid it into the slot marked with a tiny calendar symbol.
“Remember,” Kiara whispered, “each birthstone matches its month.”
Piece by piece, they placed ruby, amethyst, diamond, and then Mia carefully pulled out the emerald. She hesitated for a moment, then gently slid the emerald into the slot for May.
Suddenly, a sharp click echoed through the
chamber — the whispers fell silent.
Chapter 9: One or the other

"Well, well, what do we have here?”
They all jumped as Grayson stepped into the dim light, a sly smile on his face.
Mia’s heart pounded. “Grayson! You scared us!”
Kiara narrowed her eyes. “What are you doing here?”
Grayson shrugged. “Just making sure you don’t mess this up.”
The Stone Guardian remained still, watching the tense moment between the four.
Elizabeth crossed her arms. “We’re almost through. Don’t get in our way.”
Grayson chuckled. “I wouldn't dream of it. But remember, placing the stones wrong has consequences.”
Mia looked back at the emerald in May’s slot. “We’re doing this right,”
Grayson nodded slowly. “Good. Then let’s see if you’re ready for what’s next.”
He stepped closer to the pedestal, eyes scanning the stones. “You placed the emerald in May. Good—May’s birthstone is emerald. You’re on the right track.”
Kiara let out a relieved breath. “Thanks for the warning.”
Grayson smirked. “I’m not the enemy here. We need to work together.”
Suddenly, the Stone Guardian’s eyes glowed brighter, and a deep voice echoed through the hall.
