Ümrehan Topal- Sakarya/ Türkiye
Emin and Musab were 10-year-old boys who loved football very much. In their spare time, they would play matches with their friends in the neighborhood and dream of becoming great football players. However, lately, it seemed like everyone was engrossed in their phones and had forgotten to play games.

One day, they learned that they would make friends with students from Poland as part of an eTwinning project at their school. Emin was paired with his Polish friend Tomek, while Musab was paired with Szymon, who were the same age as them.
At first, they were just texting, sharing their favorite football teams, and talking about their daily lives. But one day, something unexpected happened that changed the way they saw their friendship forever…

2. CEIP Guernica
While Emin and Musab were talking with their friends, two Spanish girls came to the field. They were also exchange students, and they excitedly asked if they could join the game.

At first, some of the boys frowned; the idea of playing football with girls did not appeal to them.
But one of the girls reminded them that in Spain, female footballers were world champions! With this motivation, the boys agreed to give them a chance..

Thus the girls joined the football team and trained with the boys. They noticed that the girls were doing very well on the field as they had said.
Along the way, they became very good friends and formed an extraordinary team. In their free time, they met and discussed both school and football, the passion that united them. The school director decided to enroll them in the city championship. The first match was to start in a week, but...

Musab's teacher came to the rescue.
"Let's make it an international match! Thanks to eTwinning projects, Musab has many friends from different countries. Let Musab gather a team of footballers from the project he is currently participating in, and the match will be held online!"
"Bravo! Great idea!" - Musab exclaimed.
The boy immediately wrote a message to his project colleagues that he needed an international team for the match. A friend from Ukraine immediately volunteered...

Musab’s phone buzzed with messages. “I’m in!” wrote Tomek from Poland. “Me too!” added Szymon. More messages poured in—players from Spain, Ukraine, Greece, Romaniia, Turkey, Jordaniia and Poland wanted to join. “Wow! We have a real international team now!” Emin said. The coach scratched his head. “But… how do we play football online?” Musab laughed. “Easy! We use a football video game! Each of us controls a player, and we play as one team!” The match started, and Musab’s team faced the local players on a big screen in the school gym. The game was fast and exciting—Tomek scored the first goal! “Pass to me!” shouted Szymon through the voice chat. He kicked the ball… and GOAL! The score was 2-2 with one minute left!..... What funny thing might happen next?

A low whooooosh filled the dark gym, followed by a thud! "What was that?" Musab whispered. Suddenly, the emergency lights flickered on, casting eerie shadows.
Rocky let out a happy bark and ran toward something in the corner. When the lights fully returned, everyone gasped—Max, the other dog, had somehow snuck back in! He had knocked over a pile of soccer balls, which were now rolling all over the gym floor.
The coach groaned but couldn't help chuckling. "Alright, I think we've had enough surprises for one day!"
Emin grinned. "So... rematch?"
"Rematch!" everyone shouted, laughing as they reset the game.

The following week arrived faster than anyone expected. The children met again in the same park, this time with even more excitement in the air.

Claudiu and Ezekel had brought traditıonal Romanian snacks to share, while the Polish team introduced a new version of The Lightning Paws game, this time with special “animal power” cards.
Laughter echoed through the park as Rocky used his “super sniff” card to find a hidden toy.

After the games, the children gathered under a tree for a picnic. They didn’t speak the same language perfectly, but through hand gestures, smiles, and shared snacks, they understood one another deeply. Musab raised his juice box and said, “To new friends and fun times!” Everyone cheered, and even Rocky and Max barked in agreement. That day, they didn’t just play—they built bridges between cultures, proving once again that friendship needs no translation.
