It was a hot, beautiful morning, like most days in Florida. Damian the Great Dane leaped eagerly out of his new dog bed. It was their first day in the state, after recently moving. “GOOD MORNING FLORIDA!” He ruffed enthusiastically. He peeked out the window and saw a Rottweiler barking at another dog. He thought to himself hmm… that doesn’t seem right. But right back to barking he went.

“Can you keep it down?” asked Lily the cat, rolling her sleepy eyes. 

“Heck, no! It’s our first day!” He yelled back, even louder. Then he dashed out of the room and to the bedroom. “WAKE UP!” He demanded repetitively to his owner. Of course to him it was just barking. 

“Okay, okay! I’m up!” His owner snapped.

“FINALLY!” He barked. 

“Do you want to go to the dog park? Who wants to go to the dog park?” His owner said in a baby voice.

“YES, YES!” Damian ruffed, his tail going a million miles an hour.

As they arrived at the park, Damian realized that it was not your average dog park; it was huge! He leaped out of the car as his owner opened the door and started to sprint in circles. Then he started trotting down the red, gravel path.

Two Dachshunds walked past him and gave him a nasty glare. The same glare was shown on the face of a beautiful, white poodle. He wondered why. Was it because he was new?

Then, a deep, menacing voice came from behind him. “Well, well, well. Look what we have here.” He turned around just to find out he was being circled by a massive Rottweiler and his group. Now reader, you might be thinking, Uh-oh! This isn’t going to end well. But we will see soon.

He looked around and gave a weak whimper. The others burst into laughter. 

“Did you hear that pathetic whine?” the Rottweiler whispered to his group. Then they walked away and started heading for the two Dachshunds.
