Introduction

The eTwinning project BEE VIP is about honeybees, socially sophisticated insects, the busiest creatures in the world. They work very hard to make honey and pollinate flowers on Earth. The aim of the project is to investigate the value of honeybees to the humans and to the Earth’s ecosystem.

The project participants did the research and found out that BEES are really VIP (Valuable, Interesting, Powerful).

On the World Bee Day, the students took part in the contest for the best poems about bees, BEE VIP, proving that ‘bees are valuable, interesting, and powerful’. Here are the best poems >>

Poem about a bee

Once upon a time
the small bee larvae were born in the beehive.
The bee-aunts fed them a lot, 

and from the first to the last
they grew up 

and became chrysalis so fast.

But as it happens when teenagers meet,
 they all started diet, cause wanted to be fit.
 They were young and not oriented at all
 that the food is magic, and royal jelly called.

Only one bee was eating the food with appetite,

 so she grew up more and more 

during day and night. 

Those bees that were on diet all the time, 

gave her side-eye, laughed at her, 

and called her fat outright. 

She was sad and felt low- 

do you know what I mean?
 But suddenly everything changed 

and she turned into the queen.
 A lot of morals are in this story,
 I'm giving here three: 

- be nice to your friends! 

- be always yourself! 

- and don't worry!

There's a pretty tiny bee

that flies above the sea

looking for some flowers

so that she can make honey!

Bees are helpful

and are beautiful

but when they are hungry

they get angry!

I really like the taste of honey

And it doesn't cost a lot of money

Every bee is very small

But it's smarter than us all!

The fields are glowing

And the bees are working

pollinating all the flowers

They are buzzing and they're flying

making honey for their mommy!

Student's feedback about bees

I was surprised that bees do a special dance to show where flowers are. It’s called the 'waggle dance'. Bees help plants grow. They make food like fruits and vegetables by pollinating flowers.Bees are strong because they work together and help nature.

I am happy to write about my first eTwinning project BEE VIP. I like bees very much!The most interesting thing for me was how bees communicate with each other by dancing.
Bees are very important because they help flowers and fruits glow.

I was impressed that bees can recognize human faces and talk by dancing. they help flowers, fruits, and vegetables grow. They are small but do very big work for nature.

I learned a lot of bees. The most interesting for me is so that the bees have five eyes. I think bees are valuable because they pollinate a lot of flower and plants. Bees are powerful because they strong and hard-working.

Bees communicate by dancing, which I think is really amazing! They help plants grow by pollinating flowers and work together to make honey.

While working on the project, I realized that bees are fascinating and very interesting creatures on our planet. It is incredible that bees have existed for about 30 million years, evolving together with flowering plants. A bee can make up to 200 wing beats per second. These rapid wing movements create the buzzing sound that we associate with bees.

I enjoyed the eTwinning project about bees. I was surprised to learn that bees can recognize human faces! They are valuable because they pollinate plants and help nature to be beautiful.
