 One day, while Maybel was sitting alone in the garden, Arthur, the bully of the class, came to her and talked to her about the lessons. After a while, Maybel said; "You are not smart and intelligent like me, stupid."

Maybel couldn't understand why her friend did this. The bell rang and everyone went inside. Arthur said to Maybel, "Is this idiot coming to class?" Maybel had embarrassed herself in front of all her friends and she felt very bad. She couldn't have done anything wrong to Arthur because Maybel was a girl who wouldn't even harm an ant. Maybel thought about what happened throughout the lesson.

At the end of the lesson, the teacher called Maybel to her and asked why she was calm and sad. Maybel said that she didn't want to explain the reason and that her mind was very distracted right now and left her teacher. While everyone was going home after school, Maybel, who saw Arthur, quickly ran towards her house.

Maybel dragged her feet all the way to the bus stop, her backpack feeling heavier than usual. The sky was cloudy, and she secretly hoped it might start raining hard enough to cancel school. But no such luck.

When she got to school, she walked slowly to her classroom, holding her stomach and hoping someone would notice she wasn’t feeling well. Her teacher, Mrs. Taylor, greeted her kindly but didn’t say anything about her pale face.

During math class, Maybel kept staring out the window, daydreaming about being home, wrapped in her blanket, sipping warm tea. But then something unexpected happened—her friend Jonah passed her a note under the desk.

"Cheer up. We’ve got art class later. You love painting, remember?"

Maybel smiled a little. Maybe the day wouldn’t be so bad after all.

After lunch, Maybel walked to the art room with Jonah. The hallways buzzed with chatter, but she stayed quiet, still feeling a little off. As they entered the classroom, the bright colors and smell of fresh paint greeted them like an old friend.

Mrs. Harris clapped her hands. “Today, I want you to paint something that makes you feel safe,” she announced with a warm smile.

Maybel sat down and stared at the blank paper for a moment. Slowly, she began to paint a soft green meadow, with wildflowers blooming and a gentle sun shining above. In the middle stood a little house with a red door—just like her grandma’s cottage where she used to spend her summers.

As she painted, her shoulders relaxed. She didn’t even notice the ache in her stomach anymore.

Jonah leaned over and whispered, “That looks like a happy place.”

Maybel nodded. “It is.”

When the bell rang, she didn’t rush to pack up. For the first time that day, she wasn’t wishing to be anywhere else.

Maybel realized that there, in her grandmother's house, she felt the safest. There, her friend's words and mockery could not hurt her. She realized that she was much stronger than she thought.

She called her teacher and shared her pain and anger regarding her friend Arthur's behavior.

    The bus was very crowded.It was noisy inside,but Maybel couldn't hear anything.She had her headphones on,yet she couldn't hear the music.All she could hear in her mind and in her ears was Arthur and his bullying.She wanted to scream,wanted cry. How was she going to escape these thoughts,how ! 

     Just then,the young woman sitting next to her spoke to Maybel ;
