DOSTLUK ve BİR KAP SU

      Ali, yaz tatilinde dedesinin köyüne gitmişti. Köyde her şey çok güzeldi ama en çok ilgisini çeken şey, dedesinin bahçesinde dolaşan sevimli bir köpekti. Tüyleri bembeyazdı ve gözleri kocaman parlıyordu. Dedesi ona “Pamuk” adını vermişti

                     FRIENDSHIP AND A BOWL OF WATER

    (Ali went to his grandfather's village during the summer vacation. Everything in the village was beautiful, but what caught his attention the most was a cute dog walking around his grandfather's garden. Its fur was snow white and its eyes were shining big. His grandfather had named it "Pamuk")    

               Bir gün, hava çok sıcaktı. Ali, dışarıda oynarken Pamuk’un dilini dışarı çıkararak nefes aldığını fark etti. Köpeğin susamış olabileceğini düşündü. Hemen mutfağa koştu, eski bir plastik kap buldu ve içine su doldurdu. Sonra bahçeye dönüp Pamuk’un önüne koydu. Pamuk hemen suyu içmeye başladı. O an, Ali köpeğin gözlerindeki mutluluğu hissetti.

            (One day, the weather was very hot. While playing outside, Ali noticed that Pamuk was breathing with his tongue out. He thought the dog might be thirsty. He immediately ran to the kitchen, found an old plastic container and filled it with water. Then he went back to the garden and put it in front of Pamuk. Pamuk started drinking the water immediately. At that moment, Ali felt the happiness in the dog's eyes.)

           Dedesi gülümseyerek Ali’ye baktı ve “Aferin oğlum, hayvanlar da bizim gibi susar, acıkır. Onlara yardım etmek en büyük iyiliktir” dedi. O günden sonra Ali her gün Pamuk için su ve mama koydu.

    (His grandfather looked at Ali with a smile and said, "Well done son, animals get thirsty and hungry just like us. Helping them is the greatest kindness." From that day on, Ali put out water and food for Pamuk every day.)

           Artık Pamuk, Ali nereye giderse peşinden gidiyordu. İkisi en iyi arkadaş olmuştu. Ali, hayvanları sevmenin ne kadar güzel bir şey olduğunu öğrenmişti.

    (Now Pamuk followed Ali wherever he went. The two of them had become best friends. Ali had learned how beautiful it was to love animals.)
