Space is very complicated, all just matter and planets,"wormholes" (they are not actually space worms that you go into its just structures in space allowing faster space travel) etc. But first, before we get complicated let's talk about our Solar System.

Our Solar System is a MASSIVE oval that has 8 planets, 1 asteroid belt, 5 dwarf planets all in the gravitational force of a star we call the Sun. This place which was created by a huge blast (which was thought to be the universe's expansion from a very dense and hot state, we will get to that later) called The Big Bang witch scattered particles and dust witch made our home, planet Earth. The 3rd planet from the sun and the only habitable planet in our Solar System

There are many different kinds of galaxies that have thousands of planets, black holes , stars, and much more!

This is what our galaxy, the Milky Way, looks like from Earth. If you live in a city that has light pollution, like New York and other big city's, it would be hard to see but if you live in California, Texas, or Arizona there are places were you can see it in the night sky!

This is the largest supermassive black hole ever found. Its name is Ton 618 and that smokey looking ring around it is everything it is sucking in. Ton 618 is the most ancient black hole and it is still sucking in everything. But don't be afraid, Ton is 18.2 billion light years away from Earth, so we are perfectly safe.
Black holes are formed when a huge star is to big to explode into a supernova. The star is trying to but can't so it starts to collapse on itself the gravity fights the force of the star then at the last second cant handle it. The gravity has won creating these beast. The larger the star the larger the black hole. if you get sucked in a black hole you would be tron apart into nothingness.

This is what a supernova looks like. A supernova is a cosmic explosion of wene a star explodes. This can make planets or more stars, or even galaxies. These galaxies or planets or stars do not form on the first day they take years to form.

This is what the Big Bang's timeline looks like in forming our universe. The Big Bang is not a supernova but the universes expansion from a very dens and hot state
