The myth of the Trojan Horse is deeply rooted in the history and culture of Greece, Türkiye and Italy, providing a symbolic link between these three countries.

Greece: The story stems from Greek tradition and the writings of Homer, particularly the Iliad and the Odyssey, which recount the war between Greeks and Trojans.

Türkiye: Troy, the epicentre of the story, was located in present-day Turkey, precisely in the north-western region, near Çanakkale. This area still preserves archaeological sites related to the ancient city.

Italy: The myth had a fundamental impact on Roman culture. Virgil, in the Aeneid, narrates Aeneas' flight from Troy and his mission to found a new homeland, which would become Rome

Presenting this story as a union of Greece, Türkiye and Italy emphasises the shared heritage and cultural bridge that binds these countries through mythology, history and archaeology.

     A long time ago, in the city of Troy, the Trojans lived peacefully behind their very tall walls. But everything changed because of a special event. The Trojan War started when Paris, a Trojan prince, took Helen, the queen of Sparta, because Aphrodite had promised him her love. This made Menelaus, Helen's husband, very angry. He gathered a big Greek army to bring her back.

      For ten long years, the Greeks and Trojans fought many battles, but no one could win. Then, a very clever Greek named Odysseus (also called Ulysses) came up with a smart plan. "We will build a giant wooden horse," he told his friends, "and we will hide inside it. We’ll leave it as a pretend gift for the Trojans."

       The Greeks followed Odysseus's plan. They pretended to leave the battlefield, leaving the big wooden horse outside Troy's walls. The Trojans thought the Greeks had given up and left the horse as a prize. They pulled it inside the city as a trophy. But that night, while everyone in Troy was sleeping, Odysseus and the Greek soldiers climbed out of the horse. They opened the city gates, letting the Greek army in. Thanks to Odysseus's cleverness, the Greeks finally won and conquered Troy.

  Once upon a time, there was a brave Trojan prince named Aeneas. His city, Troy, had been destroyed by the giant wooden horse built by the clever Greeks. But this wasn’t the end of his story—it was the start of an amazing adventure.

      After Troy's fall, Aeneas got a special message from the goddess Venus, his mother. She told him that he must leave with his friends and find a new home, a place to build a great city that would one day be famous across the world. So Aeneas and his friends got on their ships and began their journey.

          Along the way, Aeneas and his group faced many challenges. They battled sea monsters, survived fierce storms, and visited strange places where they met giants, sirens, and even witches. But Aeneas was brave and never gave up, always remembering the mission given to him by the gods.

      Finally, after a long journey, they reached a beautiful land called Italy. There, Aeneas met King Latinus and his daughter Lavinia. With their help, Aeneas and his companions began building a new city called Alba Longa.

        But the story doesn’t end there. Many years later, Aeneas’s descendants, Romulus and Remus, were born in this land. Raised by a brave she-wolf, the two brothers decided to build an even greater and more wonderful city: Rome!

       And so, thanks to Aeneas’s courage and determination to keep going despite all the hardships, the city was born that would one day become the heart of a great empire and one of the most important cities in history.
