"What’s happenıng?" she muttered, pushing herself up on shaky arms. Her fingers sank into damp, rich soil that smelled like a greenhouse on steroids.

Flowers even she couldn't name bloomed all around her, their perfume so thick she could practically taste it. "Where am I?"

She followed them barefoot, her heart pounding with a strange mixture of fear and excitement. The butterflies led her deeper than she’d ever dared to go, into a quiet part of the forest where even the birds stopped singing.

That’s when she saw it.

A massive old tree stood alone in a clearing, its bark twisted like ancient braids. In the center of its trunk was something impossible—a door.
