Mason loved exploring the woods near his village. One day, while exploring, an owl flew down and told him, "If you go follow this path down to the middle of the forest, you will find the biggest tree with a magical door that will open just once."

Mason's face lit up, "I can't wait to find it!" Logan, another boy from the village, jumped out from behind a tree.

"Not if I find it first!" He yelled as he ran ahead.

Mason quickly followed behind. He was trying to catch up when he heard a tiny chirp. A baby bird had fallen from it's nest. Getting to the magic tree was important, but Mason's conscience told him to do the right thing.

Mason carefully placed the baby bird back in it's nest. 

"You're going to lose!" Logan yelled as he kept running.

Mason made sure the baby bird was safe before he followed.

Mason began running again, but stopped when he turned the corner and found two squirrels fighting over a large acorn.

It's mine!

I was here first!

Mason walked over the the squirrels and said, "What if you split it, that way it's fair." The squirrels agreed and split it in half.

Mason thought for a moment. "I think you should split it; that would make it fair."

The squirrels agreed and split the acorn in half.

They thanked Mason for his help.

When Mason reached the stream, he saw a small raccoon shivering.

Logan ran right past her, but Mason stopped.

I lost my sweatshirt!

What's wrong?

Mason looked around before spotting the little raccoon's sweatshirt under a bush. He handed the sweatshirt back to the raccoon who put it on quickly. "Thank you for being so kind," she said as Mason made his way to the other side of the stream.

Mason caught up to Logan and was right behind him when suddenly --- CRASH!

Logan had knocked over a hedgehog and kept running. The hedgehog sat up and looked at Mason.

Hey! You knocked me over!

Mason said, "That wasn't me, but I'll help you pick up your books."

"Thank you for being honest and helpful." The hedgehog replied.
