The main characters in the story are 

Four,Peter,Caleb,Andrew,Natalie,and Christina.The 

Protagonist in the story is Tris,an abnegation born who is 

divergent and went to dauntless.The antagonist is 

Jeanine,a leader of euriodite who wants to exterminate all 

divergents and get rid of the faction abnegation.

Setting

The setting takes place in future chicago after a 

war that had destroyed almost the entire 

city.The setting of the story changes as the 

main character,Tris,goes to the faction 

dauntless.

Conflict

Jeanine,a leader of euriodite,wants to completley 

wipe out the faction abnegation and destroy any 

and all of the divergents,people who can belong to 

any faction they want.But Tris,a divergent will do 

any and every thing to stop her.

Rising Action

Daughter to one the leaders of 

abnegation,Beatris Prior(Tris) leaves her faction 

to become apart of a new faction dauntless 

where she will go through a series of test that 

will see if she is really dauntless material.

Rising Action

After almost being thrown out of dauntless

because she is one of the lowest initiates, Tris 

wins the capture the flag game making 

everyone see that she may have potential and 

would be great at dauntless.Even Four think 

that she could make it into dauntless after 

seeing her skills.
