This is Willa. She lives in the ocean, where the waves roll toward the sandy shore.

Willa is a small wave. She's gentle and curious, and she loves to explore.

More than anything, Willa dreams of going far up on the beach, just like the big waves do.

“I want to see what’s on the sand!” she says. “Maybe I’ll find my special purpose there!”

Every day, Willa tries her best to push forward, closer and closer to the golden beach.

But no matter how hard she tries, she doesn’t make it very far.

The tide always pulls her back down. Swoosh! Back into the deep blue sea.

She watches the big waves crash proudly on the shore, with surfers dancing on their tops.

She sighs and floats quietly, feeling small and unsure. “Maybe I don’t have a purpose after all.”
