("Reverse Story – 'A Day Without Water'')

A Thirsty Day

İnsanlar ne yapacaklarını bilemeden oradan oraya koştururlarken ülkenin en yaşlı ve bilgesi Melek Nine onları etrafına toplamış. Onlara ‘Gerçek kahramanlar doğaya değer verenlerdir’ demiş. Onlardan suyu korumalarını ve yaşama şans vermelerini istemiş. Suyu boşa harcamalarının felakete yol açtığını anlatıp herkesin hatasını anlamasını sağlamış.

O günden sonra ; musluklardan çeşmelerden sular boşa akıtılmamış, bahçeleri sularken hortum yerine sulama kabı kullanılmış, banyo yaparken küvet doldurmak yerine kısa duşlar alınmış, çiçekler için damla sistemi ile sulama oluşturulmuş, havuzlarının sularını temizlik zamanı geldikçe değiştirmişler. Kısacası suya değer vermeye başlamışlar. Artık tekrar çiçekler gülümsemeye, gölde balıklar yüzmeye ve su ülkeye yeniden hayat vermeye başlamış. Şimdi hepsi birer ‘Su Kahramanı’ olmuş. Ülkelerindeki en sevdikleri söz ise artık şuymuş: ‘Su akarsa, hayat olur!’

While people were running around not knowing what to do, the oldest and wisest person in the country, Melek Granny, gathered them around her. She told them, ‘True heroes are those who value nature.’ She asked them to protect the water and give life a chance. She explained that wasting water would lead to disaster and made everyone understand their mistake.

 From that day on; they did not waste water from taps and fountains, they used a watering can instead of a hose when watering the gardens, they took short showers instead of filling the bathtub when taking a bath, they created a drip irrigation system for the flowers, they changed the water in their pools when it was time to clean. In short, they started to value water.
