About The Author:
Thea wrote this book when she was 8 years old. She loved to go on many pretend journeys. One time she climbed Mount Everest [when really she was climbing the stairs]! She loves to imagine, and then put those imaginings into her stories.

One day a little girl named Emma went into the lush green forest. Hidden in a pile of rocks she spotted a large and fluffy dandelion. Now she knew that magic wasn't real, but she loved to pretend that it was.

Emma plucked the dandelion from between the rocks. She thought to herself that each seed might grant one wish. Emma imagined as many wishes as she could. Then she drew a long breath, blew as hard as she could, and all the little seeds went dancing into the air.

Emma skipped all the way home. She was welcomed home by her mom with a lunch of soup and cinnamon bagels. After a few bites of bagel she told her mother all about the dandelion wishes. Her mother didn't believe in wishes and she laughed. Once the delicious lunch was finished her mother said, "Why don't you go and finish your homework?"

The next day Emma and her mother visited Berry's ice cream shop. They almost never had Emma's favorite flavor, rainbow sherbet. So of course that was the first wish she had made when she blew out the dandelion. She looked at the menu and there on the board brightly underlined was rainbow sherbet!

Emma quickly ran up to the counter and said, "One rainbow sherbet please!" As she gulped down her sherbet she couldn't believe that her first wish had come true. She wondered if her other wishes would come true as well.

Emma's second wish was to spot a bright red Flame Robin in the forest. The following morning she dashed down the path and into the lush green forest. Emma walked to her favorite spot in the forest and sat down on a big round rock. Suddenly she noticed a bright red creature perched on a nearby branch.

It was a Flame Robin! Emma was so excited that her wish had come true that she yelled out, "Hooray!" Unfortunately her shout scared the robin away. But she didn't care because Emma was certain now that the dandelion magic was real.
