Introduction to dinosaurs.
dinosaurs are one of the most popular prehistoric animal by herrasaurus to modern birds. Therepods are dinosaurs that ate meat. some therepods evolved in to birds. sauropods (long necked dinosaurs) did not look like birds.
herrerasaurus
heh-rare-ra-sore-uss
this dinosaur lived about 230 million years ago. even though scientists are still discussing what type of dinosaur it was. it was definitely a carnivore. it's long powerful legs made it a speedy sprinter. herrerasaurus lived in Argentina
Triassic period

jurassic period
cryolphosaus
cry-o-loaf-o-sore-us
cryolphosaurus lived somewhere unbelievable Antarctica. its crest might have been used to attract mates. live herrerasaurus it was a meat eater

massosondlus
mass-oh-spon-dill-us
massospondyus means longer vertebrae. just like humans babies walked on 4 hands and arms (2 legs 2 arms) and adults walked on 2 legs. massospondylus lived in Africa.

allosaurus
al-oh-sore-us
ok this is my favorite dinosaur. allosaurus looked a little like t.rex it had bigger arms. allosaurus had an excellent sense of smell. good to sniff and eat stegosaurus

stegosaurus
steg-oh-sore-us
stegosaurus had 22 bony plates going from it's back to wing at predators. it also had 4 spikes on it's tail also used to swing at predators. stegosaurus brains were the size of a walnut.

diplodocus
dip-lod-oh-kus
diplodocus is our 2nd sauropod about 85ft. just like giraffes they had long necks to eat leaves on trees. diplodocus survived more than 150 years!. it also had pencil spines t it's neck all the way to it's tail.

cretaceous period
spinosaurus
spine-oh-sore-us
this is also my favorite dinosaur. this dinosaur could swim and walk on land. it's sail might have controlled it's body temp and attract a mate. in jp3 a spino won a fight against a t.rex. that is not true cause spinos lived in Egypt and usa for t.rex and t.rex wins on land not spino.

velociraptor
vel-oss-ee-rap-tor
for all the jurassic world fans (like me) raptors were actually the size of a dog. sure not large but it had 60 serrated teeth and razor sharp "killer claw" on each foot. raptors also had feathers but could not fly
