A man crept silently through the dimly lit corridors of a top-secret government lab, his pulse racing. He reached a door marked “THE PAST” and gently pushed it open, revealing a dusty room filled with forgotten artifacts and files. In the corner, an old cabinet caught his eye, its label reading “The Rat Incident.”
He approached cautiously, excitement and fear building within him. As he rummaged through the drawers, the musty scent of mildew and old paper filled the air. A thick, leather-bound book caught his attention, its pages yellowed with age. He opened it slowly, his fingers brushing the fragile pages as he began to read.
The Rat Incident
The Beginning
The house of a man known only as {CLASSIFIED} had become infested with rats. Despite his best efforts, the rodents seemed to multiply faster than he could deal with them. Desperate, he turned to the black market for help, where he met a mysterious figure named Slim Shady who promised a solution.
“This poison will drive the rats wild once they eat it,” Slim Shady explained in a low voice.
Trusting the promise, {CLASSIFIED} coated a piece of cheese with the poison and set it in a trap. Before long, a fat, gray rat took the bait, and the trap snapped shut. He picked it up, intending to throw it out the window, assuming it was dead. But when he held it by the tail, the rat’s eyes suddenly glowed an eerie red, and it bit him.
What he didn’t realize was that the poison carried a virus—a zombie virus. As the virus spread through his veins, his vision turned red, his senses sharpened, and a deep hunger for human flesh took over. Stumbling upstairs, he attacked his neighbor, Quasia, and the infection spread, eventually consuming the town—and the world.
The Apocalypse Nerds
In the safety of Charlie’s basement, a group of middle schoolers had been preparing for this very day. They had transformed the basement into a fortified base, reinforced with steel and modified school keycards for entry. Their stockpile of snacks—Doritos, Chips Ahoy, and Lay’s—was impressive, but they knew it wouldn't last long in a world overrun by the undead.
Their plan? Steal a helicopter from the airport and fly to Area 57, a secret government facility rumored to hold laser weapons and possibly a cure. But to reach it, they needed a supercar—something fast enough to outrun the infected.
The team included:
Charlie - The natural leader. A strategist at heart, Charlie excelled at organizing survival games like Dead Rails and 99 Days in the Wilderness.
Lucy - The brains. A master planner, Lucy was always thinking up clever ways to solve problems.
Trevor - The muscle. Big and strong, Trevor could handle heavy lifting and defend the group when needed.
Turbo - The driver. A racing game enthusiast, Turbo was their best bet at driving a supercar—despite not having a license.
Jeff - The wildcard. Unpredictable and impulsive, Jeff might not always know what he’s doing.
The Outbreak Becomes Real
The kids were watching the news in their bunker when the outbreak became undeniable. Journalist's face turned pale as she reported:
“People’s eyes are turning red. They’re attacking others, and those people are attacking more…” Her voice trailed off as she was suddenly knocked off-camera. The screen went to static.
The kids stared, shocked. They hadn’t expected the situation to escalate so quickly. Suddenly, Jeff stood up, impulsive as always.
“I’m going to get that Lamborghini!” he said, rushing out of the bunker before anyone could stop him.
He sprinted to the nearest dealership, eager to get the luxury car—only to be bitten by an infected mosquito, which carried the virus. The others watched in horror through Jeff’s helmet cam, helpless as his fate unfolded. They realized just how dangerous the world had become.
The First Challenge
Charlie’s dad was military, so the kids raided his supply room and suited up in tactical armor. They scavenged phones, supplies, and anything useful from Charlie’s house while reinforcing their bunker.
But their world changed again. A clever zombie, using its long, gnarled hands, pried open the door. It lunged toward the kids, forcing them to act fast. Trevor swung a pipe but couldn’t stop it. Charlie, quick on his feet, grabbed a metal rod and knocked the zombie back, temporarily disorienting it.
They shoved it into a closet and locked the door. But their relief was short-lived—Charlie’s dad, who had been helping them, was bitten in the chaos. Trevor swung the pipe, knocking both Charlie’s dad and the zombie back, before locking them in a reinforced closet. The kids were safe… for now.
But the apocalypse was far from over.
Lucy’s Plan
Lucy, ever the strategist, was quick to come up with a new plan.
“We need a new approach,” she said. “First, we’ll use the military suits—mosquitoes can’t bite through them. Then, we’ll sneak past the zombies and grab that Lamborghini Aventador. We’ll return to the bunker for supplies, and Turbo can drive us out. Once we reach Area 57, I’ll come up with the next steps.”
The others cheered. It was their best chance.
“Yay! We might actually make it!” Trevor said, his eyes wide with hope.
But Lucy’s face remained serious. “Don’t get too excited. Getting into Area 57 won’t be easy. And the guards might not let us through.”
The others exchanged uncertain glances, their excitement waning.
The Lamborghini Showdown
Armed with military gear, the kids raced to the car dealership. The place was crawling with infected, their bodies moving erratically in the shadows. Trevor swung a rope with metal balls attached, knocking down several zombies and temporarily disabling them.
Turbo, surprisingly strong from years of racing games, fought back by flipping the zombies over and clearing a path. His speed and precision were incredible, taking down nearly 65% of the infected. But then, the real challenge arrived: a massive zombie, its muscles bulging beneath its decaying skin, emerged from the depths of the dealership. It charged straight for Charlie, pushing him aside with no effort. It turned to face Trevor, raising its fists.
Trevor, weakened from the fight, barely had time to react. But in a burst of desperation, Turbo kicked the giant zombie in the calf. The creature stumbled back, howling in frustration. The other zombies, seeing their leader falter, scattered in fear.
The Aventador and the Tesla
With the dealership nearly cleared, the kids rushed inside. Turbo’s eyes locked onto the Lamborghini Aventador, its sleek design gleaming in the dim light. Without hesitation, he revved the engine and brought it down from the top floor
Lucy quickly mapped out a plan to arm the car. While Trevor scavenged parts from damaged vehicles in the dealership, Lucy designed a blueprint to reinforce the Lamborghini’s frame. After a quick search on Charlie’s parents’ phone, they found the nearest Home Depot.
The store was eerily quiet, its aisles deserted. But as they navigated through the aisles, a zombie leaped from the shadows, knocking Turbo to the ground. It knocked him around, but the others fought back, managing to subdue it.
With the immediate danger gone, they gathered more supplies—soldering guns, metal scraps, and anything they could use.
Turbo, still dazed, muttered, “Everything’s gonna be okay…” before collapsing.
Among the kids, Turbo was the only one who could drive. Suddenly, they heard a car honking from deeper inside the store. They lifted Turbo onto a cold metal flat cart and wheeled him outside. To their relief, Jeff was inside a white self-driving Tesla, surprisingly uninfected.
“Get in, a mob of infected is headed this way!” Jeff shouted.
The News Helicopter Stations
With the virus spreading faster than ever, the kids realized they couldn’t drive forever. They needed a helicopter to reach Area 57, which was located on a floating base anchored in the middle of the ocean. Using Google Maps, Lucy pinpointed two possible helicopter stations: Fox 5 News Station and 106.7 Light FM Radio Station.
The first station, Fox 5, was abandoned. But a reporter zombie lurked inside, and after a quick skirmish, the kids managed to overcome it. There were no flying vehicles inside.
The second, the 106.7 Light FM station, was a larger facility. Inside, a huge mutant zombie awaited. After a challenging battle, the kids managed to subdue it, though it wasn’t without some injuries.
