There once was a girl named Zoey. She lived in China and had many friends. She loved living in China so much and couldn’t imagine her life anywhere else.

One day, Zoey's parents told her that she was going to move to Japan because her dad got a new job in Japan and because the Chinese government was closing down restaurants during Covid.

Zoey was shocked and so mad at her parents. She yelled, “I am not going! I am not moving to Japan.” Her dad told her, “We are going to live a much better life in Japan.”

No

Zoey thought that her parents didn't understand her and what she was saying. She ran to her room and started to cry. Zoey climbed out of her room window and went to her tree house. She started crying and weeping.

Then her best friend, Mia, called out to her and found her crying and weeping in the tree house. She climbed up and wiped her tears away. Zoey told her bff, sadly “I am moving away to Japan and will never ever come back to China again.”

Mia reminded Zoey, “We are BFFs and we will always stay in touch. Maybe I will even come to visit!” Zoey felt better.

The next day at school, Zoey’s teachers gave her a report card because she was moving away. When she got home, she showed her parents her report card.

They were so angry at her because she was not getting good enough marks at school. They told her she will only get her phone back, once she gets her grades back up. Zoey’s life was terrible!

It was finally moving day, and Zoey was so upset. Her best friends came over and threw her an amazing goodbye party. Every one of her friends came. She was really going to miss everyone!
