1. Without poverty

The essence of this goal is to help people so that they do not have to live in extreme poverty. Poverty means when a person does not have enough money for food, clothing or housing. This is a problem all over the world, and in Lithuania too. Imagine – some people have to live all day with only 1.93 euros. This is how more than 8 out of 100 people around the world live.
We can all help! We can share things we no longer need – clothes, toys, books. We can be friendly and help each other. And adults can create jobs and make sure everyone has enough money to live. If we all work together, there will be fewer people living in poverty.

2. Without hunger
Imagine that almost a third of all food produced in the world is wasted. This means that a lot of delicious and healthy food goes to waste. This harms both people and nature. In Lithuania, each person throws away approximately 86 kilograms of food per year – that's as much as a big child weighs!
We can all help to reduce food waste! Here's what we can do:
Eat as much as you can fit on your plate.
Don't throw away fruit or vegetables if they're a little unsightly - they're still delicious.
Eat your food in time so it doesn't spoil.
Share with others if you have too much food.
If we all did this, there would be a lot less food in the bins!

3. Good health and well-being

The essence of this goal is for people to be healthy. We need to be careful of diseases and live healthy lives. Many things in the world have already changed for the better, but there are still things that need more attention. If we are nervous or afraid a lot, it harms our health. Therefore, we need to take more care of ourselves – rest, move, eat healthy and be cheerful.
We promise to take care of our health:
Eat healthy food
Move and play a lot
Get a good night's sleep
Keep clean
Be friendly and cheerful

4. QUALITY EDUCATION

The essence of this goal is that all children and adults can learn. School and learning are very important because they help us become smarter, learn new things and live better. Learning can be done not only in school, but throughout our lives - reading, trying, being interested in the world. This is how we can grow, discover new opportunities and learn to use new technologies.
We can achieve this goal by:
Studying hard in school
Reading books and being interested in new things
Asking questions and looking for the answers
Learning from friends, parents, teachers and even from our own mistakes
Not being afraid to try new things
If we learn throughout our lives, we will be smart and be able to take better care of our future!

5. GENDER EQUALITY

Girls and boys should have equal opportunities. All people are equal – in school, at work and in life. Sometimes girls earn less or their voices are heard less often than boys. This should not be the case. Everyone has the right to learn, work, be a leader and pursue their dreams – it doesn’t matter if you are a boy or a girl.
To make everyone equal, we can:
Respect both girls and boys
Not make fun of others and say that someone “can’t” just because they are a girl or a boy
Share work and activities equally
Let everyone choose what they want to be in the future – a doctor, a teacher, an athlete or a manager
Encourage each other to pursue their dreams
This will make the world fairer and friendlier for everyone!

6. Clean water and sanitation

What can we do to ensure that there is enough water for everyone:
Don't leave the tap running when we brush our teeth
Take shorter baths to use less water
Don't pollute rivers, lakes and seas
Drink and save clean water
Tell your friends why water is so important
If we all take care of it, there will be enough water for more people.

7. Affordable and clean energy

The goal is to have clean energy that is friendly to nature. Now we get a lot of energy in the world by burning coal, oil or gas - which is harmful to nature. But now we are producing more and more energy from the sun, wind or water.
When you save electricity, when you ride a bike, or when you use sunlight – you help nature and contribute to sustainable energy!

8. Decent work and economic growth

The essence of this Sustainable Development Goal is to promote sustainable economic growth, entrepreneurship, job creation and worker well-being.
An economy grows when people have jobs and can buy what they need. Entrepreneurship is when you come up with an idea (like baking cookies, making bracelets, or creating an app) and implement it so that others can buy it.

9. Industry, innovation and infrastructure

The goal is to come up with new, smart and environmentally friendly things so that people can live better. Why is this important? Because without new ideas, the world would not move forward - neither the economy nor our daily lives.
How to do it?
Renovate old facilities and buildings,
Use less energy and resources,
Develop and test new technologies,
Collaborate and share ideas.

10. Less inequality

Less inequality means that all people should have equal opportunities – to learn, to work, to participate in society.
It doesn’t matter if you are a boy or a girl, young or old, where you come from or what your religion is – we are all equally important.
We all have the right to pursue our dreams and goals.

11. Sustainable cities and communities

A sustainable city is a place where it is comfortable, safe, and good for everyone to live.
A city must be safe – so that you can live and play in peace.
It must be comfortable – so that you can find a place to sit, play or have a chat.
It must be friendly to nature – so that there is no garbage and the air is clean.
We ourselves – the people – create such cities.

12. Responsible consumption and production

Responsible consumption and production means that we should use only what we need and try to leave as little waste as possible.
What to do?
Don't buy too much - take only what you really need.
Use things longer - repair, reuse, share with others, not throw them away.
Sort waste - plastic, paper, glass should go into separate containers.
Save energy and water - turn off the lights, turn off the tap.
Choose environmentally friendly transport , walk or ride a bike.

13. Climate protection

The goal is to protect the Earth from climate change.
Climate change is when the weather becomes increasingly unpredictable: sudden heat waves, storms, fires, or floods.
Save electricity – turn off the lights when you do not need, do not use electrical appliances unnecessarily.
Save water – turn off the tap when brushing your teeth, take shorter showers.
Sort and reduce garbage – plastic, paper and glass should go in their own bins.
Use friendly transport – sometimes choose a bicycle, scooter or walk instead of a car.
Plant plants and trees – they clean the air and cool the environment.
14. Life underwater

We must protect the seas, rivers and lakes so that they are clean and full of fish and other animals.
What to do:
Do not throw garbage into the water or on the coast.
Sort plastics, as they often end up in the seas.
Support campaigns to collect garbage near water bodies.

We must protect forests, animals, and plants so that they do not disappear.
What to do:
Protect trees – do not break branches, do not drop litter in the forest.
Participate in planting new trees.
Sort garbage to make nature cleaner.
Respect animals – do not scare, catch, or harm them.
Consume responsibly – buy as few unnecessary items as possible that lead to deforestation.

16. Peace, justice and strong institutions

This goal is for us all to live in friendship and peace, so that it is fair, and no one steals or cheats.
What to do:
Be friendly – don’t get angry, share, help each other.
Tell the truth – don’t lie or cheat.
Respect others – listen, accept others as they are.
Set a good example – act the way we would like others to treat us.
Help those who make mistakes – remind them that stealing or cheating is not good.
17. Partnerships for achieving goals

The most important thing is to work together. When everyone unites, helps each other and is friends, we can achieve more and make the world a better place.

What can we do?
Cooperate - work together, not alone.
Share - share ideas, things, help.
Be friend - do not get angry, listen to others.
Help - when someone is having a hard time, strech a hand.
Solve problems together - because then you will always find a better solution.
