For Cora & Tayo
May you leap through life adventures like Cora the Kangaroo,
and snooze through troubles like Tayo the Koala.

Parent Prelude
Every child experiences the world in their own unique way.
When children witness or hear about environmental changes, like animals being hurt, bush taken by fires, or storms damaging the land, they too can feel worried, sad, or confused.
Trauma-informed Conversations gently shift to centre the child’s perspective.
Making space for their feelings and experiences.
Through this, children can safely explore and name their feelings and discover small, yet meaningful ways to connect with and care for animals and our world.
Children experience the world through their senses, feelings, and relationships with themselves and others. When they see or hear about animals in distress, bush burning, or other environmental changes, it can stir big and often, confusing emotions.
They may feel worried, sad, angry, or powerless. Each child’s experience is unique.
This is a natural response to caring deeply about animals, humanity, and the world.
It reflects empathy, love, and connection, all should be nurtured in children.
In Hop-along Gully, where sunlights gold, lived Cora the Kangaroo, bouncy and bold. Tayo the Koala, snuggled up in a tree, dreaming of snacks and sipping Gumtea.
Cora leaps, “Yippee!
I love adventures!
“I’m practicing hops to impress a crowd!”
Tayo smiles
“Let's go on an adventure.”
“Coraaaaah!!”,
yawns Tayo,
“Why do you bounce so loud?”
