Matilda was a happy ice cube who loved to spend time in the freezer with her friends.

But, one day, she discovered that she wanted to explore the outside world. 

And so she told her best friend Finn the fish. 

I want to see the world!

 You can't go outside, it is very dangerous for an ice cube!!!

So, one day, Matilda jumped out of the freezer, looking for new adventures. 

WOW! I'm outside. What a lovely place. But it's a little bit hot in here, let's go outside. 

Matilda went outside the house. There she found something strange. 

There was a warm ligth that came from above. 

Oh! What is happening here? I think is even hotter outside. I'm feeling dizzy. 

Well, I think that's because of me. 

Hi! I'm Alejandro, the Sun. 

Matilda realised that the sun's heat was melting her, and suddenly she started to cry. 

Don't be sad! You're going to stay here, just in a different way!

The hours passed, it was already midday! The heat was becoming too much for Matilda - whoosh! - SHE MELTED!

Now I'm not an ice cube anymore, I'm a water puddle!

The hours passed and it was getting hotter and hotter. Matilda began to boil and felt herself starting to float. 

But the heat of midday turned Matilda into vapor and she floated up into the sky!

From high above, Matilda could see mountains, trees, and rivers.
She felt free and happy.

But grey clouds began to move closer to her. 

That afternoon it began to rain. 

Matilda began to fall — plip, plop! — like rain.

Oh! This is something new. It's cold and I'm becoming water again...

She landed on the garden and turned into a puddle once again.

The sun was gone, and Matilda felt lonely.

The night grew cold. 

Martilda yawned and her eyes began to close. 

She fell asleep under the stars.

When she woke up, the morning was icy cold. 

SHE HAD FROZEN AGAIN! She was an ice cube once more!

I'm back!

Matilda ran back home and jumped into the freezer.

Her friends were very happy to see her again. 

Matilda, you're home!

Matilda, we have missed you!!

You won’t believe the adventure I’ve had! 

Matilda's friends listened to her whole story, everything she had become. They couldn't believe that their little friend had been water, steam and rain, all in one day!

They looked at her with admiration and told her how brave she was.

She smiled, happy to be home again, surrounded by her friends.
