Before the book starts, I wanted to give a shoutout to my sister, 9th-grade Honors teacher, and my dad.
Firstly, to my Honors teacher, Mrs. Mauldin, without you making this an assignment, I don’t think I ever would have finished or even started writing this book.
Next, my dad, who kept pushing and supporting me without limits.
Lastly, my dear sister, you have inspired me to write so we could start an entrepreneur shop or some type of business together one day. You, out of everything, have always kept me going; to be someone you can look up to and know we’ll always be there for each other.

Prologue
A small suburban area called Ecrembridge was known for its SAS, or Secret Agents Society, where agents lived, worked, and trained, in plain sight. The SAS wasn't the only thing it was known for; it's also known as the bridge between a rural town, Okruidville, and an urban city, Trodence City. Okruidville was the food basket, which provided itself and its neighboring areas with food, Trodence City was the tourism hub with high job opportunities, and Ecrembridge was the living area with small businesses.

This story follows a young woman named Letha Thinwell. She's fresh out of high school and heading into college, having been placed in the SAS college. The college is known as Bridton College, named after Ecrembridge's founder, Bob Bridton. To the public eye, Bridton College offered a range of opportunities, including medicine, computer skills, welding, HVAC, and beauty. These are just a few of the offers this college provides; it's the local college for all three areas, so there are lots of community service opportunities.
Under the surface, away from the public and prying eyes, the SAS program was there and taught young people how to become agents.
The public feared Letha and her family due to their soulless, emotionless, and scary appearances and voices. Letha's childhood friend, whom Letha often called Angel, and her family had it easy. They were loved by the public for their innocent, gentle, and kind appearances and voices. Letha never was jealous of her best friend; she was happy for her, but when they were still kids, Angel and her family moved away... After that, they grew apart...
The Story
Letha Thinwell was walking down the street, humming joyfully, because she would finally get to see her lover, Jason Norton, since all the important tests were over. She was taller than most, since she was above-average height. People stared at her, she tried to appear more friendly by wearing a bunnytail hairstyle, but it never really helped...
After a few minutes of waiting for him at their meetup spot, she starts to get worried, he had never been late before. She gets a message from her brother, turns out he hasn't seen him either...
Just in that moment, the police sents out an alert about a missing. Since it's going to be part of her job, she reads the alert. When she sees it, her heart skipped a beat, realizing he was missing.

She gets a call from a random number; she kind of recognizes it, but isn’t sure, so she answers it.
“Hello?” She asks.
“If you want to see your lover boy again, come and find me. You have two days, good luck.” A robotic voice says, which has been filtered by someone. The phone call was ended by the other side.
She stops in her tracks and immediately heads to the college, specifically heading to her brother’s dorm. She frantically knocks on his door.
“Michael. MICHEAL! It’s me, Letha. We need to talk.”
Her brother, Michael, a man in his early twenties who’s in his fourth year of being an agent, opens the door.
He has the same color hair as hers, but just shorter and in a faux hawk hairstyle since he’s more of a rock person.
He has brown eyes and towers over her, being around 6’8 ft, while she is 6’0 ft. He’s also wearing his agent suit, which is slightly unbuttoned, meaning he was coming back from a mission.
“What is it, sis?” His voice is deep and emotionless; it's his natural voice.
“I know you say I shouldn’t rush learning new abilities, but I need you to teach me some tracking and fighting skills! Please!” She said, nearly begging.
“What is it for?” He asks, tilting his head slightly while stretching his back.
“It’s Jason, someone took him, and I need to know these skills to save him!”
Jason was already like a little brother to Michael, and he happily accepted him as his sister’s boyfriend and could-be future brother-in-law. Michael sighs, knowing how important it is to his little sister to save her boyfriend.
“Alright, I’ll teach you. How long do you have?”
“Two days…”
“Then we should begin right now, head to the training grounds. I’ll meet you there with the equipment you’re going to need.”
Letha heads to the training grounds, and a few minutes later, her brother arrives with equipment.
“First, how agile are you? If you can take this coin from my hand in five minutes, you’ll pass the first test.” With a flick of his wrist, she can see the coin in his hand. The first try, she fails because he acts fast enough to kick her back in her stomach. The second try, she fails due to his body moving out of the way, causing her to fall on her face. “Try to be more silent, and when needed, do the long-term plan.” He looks down at her, not breaking a sweat. “You’re agile, but you don’t know how to use it to your advantage. Also, you’re naturally strong, but your body doesn’t show it. Use that to your advantage, sister.”
The third try, using his advice, she passes the first test.
“Good job, but we still have many tests to go.” He looks at the coin, now in his sister’s hands.
He teaches her how to hack electronics, track using the system in them, and how to fight, both offensively and defensively. In two days, it takes her a few tries to pass the final test, but it is worth it in the end.
She thanks her brother for his help and quickly leaves to get ready to find the kidnapper. She’s wearing a black suit, so she can better blend into the darkness, which increases how stealthy she can be now. Using her equipment and tracking skills, without much trouble, she leads her to a mansion, an abandoned one.
She uses a dark alley to enter the mansion; she guesses this is the base of whoever kidnapped her boyfriend.
The mansion is quiet, an eerie kind that makes the hair on her neck stand up. She immediately notices the millions of traps, big and small, that are around. She dodges them with graceful-ish, and she gets closer to the middle. There are about six riddles, each one unlocks one of the six door locks.
The first riddle: Nobody empties me, but I never stay full for long. What am I?
The second riddle: What goes up but never comes back down?
The third riddle: What has hands but cannot clap
The fourth riddle: What’s always found on the ground but never gets dirty?
The fifth riddle: What has a head and a tail but no body?
The last riddle: What has one eye, but can’t see?
After a bit of thinking, she figures it out. Number one is the moon, two is your age, three is a clock, four is a shadow, five is a coin, and six is a needle.
When all the locks unlock. She opens the door and searches for her boyfriend, until she hears a familiar voice, but it’s not her boyfriend or brother.
“Letha, what are you doing here?” Letha turns around, and it’s her childhood friend, Angelica Persiwood.
“Angel! I’m looking for something. What are you doing here?”
Letha looks at Angelica; her body is more mature now, she’s around 5’3 ft. Her eyes are blue and piercing, but still full of some odd type of determination. Her curly blonde hair paints her face to be youthful and wild, reminding Letha of when they were kids, always playing around, never serious. Her clothing, however, makes her look serious and professional; she has a green long dress on that is split into an upside-down V-shape. Her heels are as sharp as obsidian, just like her gaze.
Letha gulps, hardly, feeling some evil energy around her childhood best friend.
That’s when Letha sees him, Jason, but his eyes are dark blue and hypnotized, and he’s wearing a dark green suit.
“Oh, thank god, you found him. Thank you.” Letha hugs Angelica, with tears streaming down her face. Angelica smirks wickedly.
“Oh, Letha, you poor thing… I’m the one who kidnapped him.”
“W-What? Why!?”

“As payback… Now, Jason, my loyal minion, attack her.” She backs away from Letha and points at her commandly.
Letha tries to snap him out of it, but his face remains emotionless, as if he’s not in control anymore. That’s when it hits her hard, knocking the breath out of her harder than any punch could; she’s too late…
Tears stream more and faster, but they aren’t joyful ones anymore…
“No, no, please, no–” Her body freezes as she feels the energy that was around Angelica engulf her.
“Now, now, old buddy. I have you under my control; see, my powers allow me to read and control minds and things with my mind.” Her grin widens.
Letha knows she can’t do anything against Angelica. The mission, the one she worked so hard for, feels impossible, and she feels like she’s slipping away. Angelica commands her to sit down on a chair and ties her up before leaving with Jason into the next room. Letha might as well give up, now, right? There’s nothing else she can do….
The door opens, she doesn’t look up, just sits down, and a voice, a male one, calls out.
“Sister? Letha! Are you okay? Look at me!” It’s her brother, he runs over to her and looks at her, her eyes are now dark blue with light blue spirals in them. “God, what happened to you?” He unties her and pulls her into a hug.
“Just thank god, you’re okay.” He says, looking down at her. She doesn’t respond, she can’t… “Sister, please fight back… I wasn’t going to tell you this until you were older, but you’re the only family I have left; we've got to have each other. Please, wake up.” His voice cracks with emotion. This somehow breaks the spell; she blinks, and her eyes turn back green again.
“W-What… What do you mean, we only have each other?”
“Others, like Angelica, aren’t the only ones who are supernatural or superhuman… Our family has special abilities too…”
“Why did no one ever tell me this?”
“It skips generations, and is rare for us to get… I have one, it is called ‘Necromancy’.”
“Necro–what?”
“It means I can see, control, and speak to the dead. I used it to speak to mom and dad, so I was kind of telling the truth when I told you I saw and talked to them…”
“The mission or trip was a lie?”
“Kinda, but in a way, it was a permanent trip to the afterlife…”
“You say abilities, meaning there’s more than Necro-whatever…”
“Yeah, there’s also blood magic, but I don’t possess it. You, however, possess both abilities… Dad wanted you to learn them naturally and not have it forced… But… If you want to get your boyfriend back, you need to use them now…!”
“Okay, I’ll try…”
“If anything happens, then I’ll step in and take her down, but I won’t be as merciful as you will be…”

“No! I’ll do it, please…”
“Fine… Just be safe, okay?”
“I will, brother.”
“Promise?”
“Promise!”
Michael sighs, not wanting to leave, but knows he has to since he has another mission from the SAS. He gets up to leave, but not before saying something, “Don’t forget to use your equipment, okay?” When she nods, he leaves.
She walks up to the door that Angelica and a controlled Jason walk through, collecting her thoughts before kicking open the door.
Angelica whips around, shocked to see her.
“I-I- HOW!? MY MIND POWERS ARE IMPOSSIBLE TO ESCAPE!”
“You thought wrong… I don’t know what I did to you, but this ends now…”
“You’re a brat, you know that? YOU turn ME and my family into the supernatural police, and now my family is in prison because of you. Also, guess what? I only came to find out, you’re also a hypocrite since you have powers.”
“Supernatural police? What’s that? Some lame excuse you made up so you could get ‘payback’?”
“What, how do you not know… If you don’t know then… No, no, they wouldn’t…” Realizing she had been lied to, she retreats into the shadows with shame.
Confused a bit on her reaction, but Letha switches her attention back to Jason.
“Jason? Please wake up.” She wonders if magic exists, and then does a true love kiss always work? She sighs, knowing that if this doesn’t work, then this is going to hurt. She takes a deep breath before kissing him and pulls away, hoping it works. Jason blinks, his eyes returning to his original eye color, which is grey. It worked, so true love does exist.
