Mom, do I really HAVE to go to camp?

Sweetie, There’s nothing wrong with camp! Besides, you need to do more this summer than just call your friends and watch tv all day!
Later…

*grumble* how am I even supposed to make new friends here?

Okay, I guess this is my cabin… it’s the same number on the paper the lady gave me, so yeah… *sigh* here goes…

Inside the cabin…

*In her head*
Hmm, it’s actually pretty nice in here… wow!

Oh, hi! You must be new here! I’m your camp counselor, Trina! Come with me, and I’ll show you your room!
Hi, I’m Anna. Oh ok, thanks!

So, there’s 4 girls per room! Your bed is right here, and you can pick top or bottom bunk; you’re the first one here! Your bunk mates should be here pretty soon! Also, you can put your stuff on top of your bed! I’ll be in my bed if you need me!
K! Thanks.

*In her head*
Ooh, I want the top bunk!

Hey, Trina, can I go outside real quick?
Sure! Just stay on camp grounds. Everyone except the people in your room are here, and when they are, we have to get changed into bathing suits and go to the lake for swim lessons!
K! Thanks!

*Sigh*
It’s really pretty here
Soon after Anna came back inside, the other girls arrived, so they all got changed into their bathing suits and left for the lake soon after…
At the lake…
*Trina talking*
Ok, everyone, hop into the water, and… swim! If you don’t know how to swim, come see me!

*In her head*
Wow, the water’s so pretty!
swish swish

swish
slur

swish swish swish slorp
*Grab!*
?!
*In her head*
Okay, time to swim back up. I bet I passed the swim test!

AHHHH!!! HELP MEEEEEEE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
to be continued…
(on next page)

Anna, are you okay?!
*cough cough* Yeah, I think so…
What happened?
I…I don’t know… I think something pulled me down underwater…
…
Lets get you back to the cabin…
Later, at the cabin…

That’s great! But about something pulling you down underwater… I think that was your imagination… maybe your foot got stuck on some seaweed, and you thought it was pulling you down?
I’m feeling better now.

Trina, what’s the next activity?

It’s hiking, but Anna, I don’t think you should come. You should stay here and rest.
Yeah, probably just my imagination…

camp isn’t always as it seems…
This summer, instead of staying home like she wanted to, 12 year old Anna is forced to go to camp by her mom. At first, she isn’t at all exited… until she goes into her cabin and meets her camp counselor, who seems nice. The camp seems pretty, and she starts to feel much better… until she almost drowns in the lake during swim lessons. No one believes her when she says that something pulled her underwater purposely… something not human. So, she starts to think that maybe it’s just her imagination… but soon, things start happening. And she starts to wonder… was it ever really just her imagination? Or is there something evil lurking in this camp…
