One morning, the teacher came into the classroom with a thick folder in her hand. She went to the board and wrote in big letters: "CLIMATE CHANGE".

“Children,” she said with a smile, “today we are going to talk about a very important problem. Does anyone know what climate change is?”

The classroom suddenly became quiet. Everyone looked at each other. Nobody raised their hand. When the teacher saw this, she started to explain:

“Climate change means the Earth is getting slowly warmer. Because of this, icebergs and glaciers are melting. In some places, there are big droughts. In other places, there are very heavy rains. The living areas of animals are being

damaged because the balance of nature is changing.”

One of the students asked curiously, “Teacher, can we stop this?”

The teacher smiled and said, “It’s very difficult to stop it completely. But we can slow it down by protecting nature. We can use less energy, recycle, and plant trees. These small actions can help a lot.”

When the lesson ended, the children went out to the school yard. They started talking about this topic. One of them said, “Friends, we should do something about climate change.” Another student agreed and said, “Like the teacher said, we can plant trees to protect nature.”

They all liked this idea. So they went to the school principal

and shared their plan. They wanted to plant trees in the school garden. The principal liked the idea and said yes. The children were very happy and started to prepare for the next day.

The next day, the weather was sunny. All the materials and tree saplings were ready in the school yard. Each class had its own planting area. The students took turns digging holes, placing the saplings carefully, and fixing the soil around them.

The school garden was very lively that day. Everyone was trying to do their best to help fight climate change. The principal and the teachers came to see them and said, “Great job, children! These trees are for your future and for

the future of the world.”

In the evening, the children looked at the trees they had planted one last time. They felt proud because they had completed their first action against climate change. They understood that even small steps can make a big difference.

From that day on, they decided to take better care of the environment — using less plastic, turning off lights when not needed, and telling others about climate change. Their journey to protect the Earth had just begun.
