ong ago, in a quiet little village tucked between hills and streams, there lived a aa young maiden named Lady Maddie of c Legdevale. From the time she was b\ but twelve summers old, she dreamed of the day she might command her own carriage. A mystical chariot of metal and fire.

n the morning of her fourteenth
birthday, her parents led her to the courtyard. There, gleaming beneath the dawn light, sat a black Mini Cooper S.
Maddie gasped. “What manner of beast is this?”

addie's father smiled. “’Tis your dream steed, my child. It runs not on hay nor water, but upon a strange elixir called gasoline.”
Her mother added, “And
beware, it speaks in gears. You
must learn its language well, lest it buck and stall.”

Da ays turned to weeks as Maddie practiced under her father’s watchful eye, until at last she managed to guide the beast forward without faltering. Her heart swelled with pride. One bright summer morn, her mother bade her fetch a bunny from across the countryside. “You shall drive us, my dear,” said her mother, smiling.

addie’s heart beat fast, but she nodded bravely. The road wound through meadows and over soft hills, the wind carrying the scent of wildflowers. Yet as the path grew steeper, the maiden’s courage wavered.

The car shuddered, the gears groaned, and suddenly, the enchanted steed began to roll backward down the hill!
“Mother!” cried Maddie.
“Quick, start the beast anew!”
her mother commanded.
Maddie turned the key, and the Mini awoke with a mighty roar

Smoke puffed from its tail, birds scattered from the trees, and the car surged forward once more. Later, as they journeyed homeward through the twisting woods of Ledges Forest, another trial awaited. A steep hill rose before them, and
beyond it, a sharp curve
edged by a perilous ditch.

D etermined to prove her worth, Maddie focused on the shifting
gears, but forgot the turning
road. The car skidded upon the
edge, and for a breathless moment, they teetered at the edge of danger.
“Maddie!” her mother shouted. “Turn thy wheel, child!”
