How familiar are you with the concept of Urban Heat Islands (UHI)?

"Among the 14 respondents, 35.7% reported being very familiar with the concept of Urban Heat Islands, while 42.9% were somewhat familiar; this indicates that the majority of participants have at least a basic understanding of the topic."

Have you previously participated in an eTwinning project?

"Among the 14 respondents, 78.6% stated that they had participated in eTwinning projects multiple times, indicating that the majority of participants are experienced with the program."

Which subjects do you currently integrate into interdisciplinary projects? (Select the most relevant)
50% of participants most frequently use ICT/Digital Literacy in their projects. This is followed by “Other” subjects with 42.9% and Geography with 35.7%. This highlights the importance of digital tools and technology in projects and reflects teachers' tendency to integrate diverse subject areas.

How confident do you feel guiding students in collecting and analyzing environmental data (e.g., temperature, vegetation)?

The results indicate that the majority of teachers feel confident in collecting and analyzing environmental data, while a significant portion still needs additional support or training in this area.

What city and country do you work in?
As seen in the chart, 57.1% of teachers feel very confident in guiding students to collect and analyze environmental data. However, 28.6% stated they would need support or training, and 14.3% feel somewhat confident. This indicates that while the majority feel competent in this area, there is still a group that could benefit from further development.

What are your expectations from participating in the Urban Heat Islands: A Tale of Two Cities project?
To introduce my students to the scientific method, help them develop skills like problem solving, adaptability and enhance their communicational and collaborative skills
Our school is in the GLOBE program, so the students are experienced, but I'm not really in this area. But I'll ask my colleague Antonija for help.

To gain more information about urban heat islands in my local community, to learn how to mitigate climate change, to teach my students hown to make a real difference.
To raise awareness on the heated subject of climate change and try to find solutions
Through my participation in this project, I hope to deepen my understanding of urban heat islands, develop research and digital skills, collaborate with international partners, and explore sustainable solutions that can improve urban environments.

Primarily, how my students will gain new knowledge and experiences by collaborating with students from other countries.
It contributes to the academic and personal development of students and also provides the opportunity to exchange experiences with European colleagues.
I expect this project to give my students the opportunity to understand a real environmental challenge through hands-on investigation, international collaboration and digital creativity.

We aim to achieve the following learning outcomes: - Discover the causes of temperature differences in urban areas using scientific methods - Apply computational thinking techniques such as data analysis, mapping, and pattern recognition - Develop creative and sustainable solution proposals for cooling urban environments - Strengthen students' communication and problem-solving skills through collaboration and project-based learning
To help my student understand causes of climate change and try some solution to have a more sustainable life style

How do you think this project can benefit your students academically and personally?
They will develop their research skills and therefore improve their knowledge on the topic of urban heat, connect it with their lives, understand its connection with climate change, formulate hypotheses and test them through experiments and thus arrive at conclusions and solutions to the problem. Personally, they will expand their network, meet new people, listen to new ideas, discuss theirs, exchange views, identify similarities and differences on the urban heat effect and understand the global nature of the problem and the need to act individually and collectively. Simultaneously they will develop digital skills, communicational skills and enjoy working in teams

This project can help students academically by improving their understanding of climate issues, strengthening their research and digital skills, and encouraging critical thinking. It can also benefit them personally by developing teamwork, communication, cultural awareness, and a stronger sense of environmental responsibility.
Personally, the project will help them develop teamwork, responsibility and environmental citizenship. They will understand that their actions can influence their local community and that they can be part of solutions. Working with students from another country can also boost their confidence, motivation, cultural awareness and English language skills.

This project will provide my students with valuable academic and personal benefits. By analyzing real-world problems, they will improve their data literacy and computational thinking skills. At the same time, they will strengthen their social abilities such as collaboration, communication, and taking responsibility, while gaining environmental awareness.
On a personal level, the project will encourage teamwork, creativity, and responsibility. Students will learn how their actions can make a positive impact on their community, which can increase their motivation, self-confidence, and sense of belonging to a wider European network of learners.
